Save Brahmaputra

Save Brahmaputra SAVE BRAHMAPUTRA AND THE COMMUNITIES THAT DEPEND ON IT India is facing water scarcity and this will be biggest known crises we will face by mid century.

The great civilizations of the world has grown on river banks, so has the BRAHMAPUTRA valley civilization, the SRISTI came to existence with "Brahmaputra" which means son to Lord Creator. This lifeline of Assamese people is facing great threat from China and may get distinct with time if Chinese conspiracy is not handled properly within time. Our organization Jana Jagriti is an Assam based NGO, is

working for last four years to save Brahmaputra River from China's design and conspiracy. China had earlier denied construction of power projects on River Brahmaputra and only when confronted with satellite images, it accepted the same and claimed that projects were of run-of -river nature and would not affect the flow of water to India. China is constructing Dams, Water Reservoirs, Pumping Station and Canals on River Brahmaputra for Super Mega power projects and to Divert Water from Brahmaputra to North China under "South to North Water Diversion Projects". The rise and fall of powers in Asia could be influenced by water, like the same way that oil in the past century influenced the rise and fall of powers. Growth all over Asia has triggered rapid withdrawals of fresh water. The fact is we have less water than any region in the world. The purpose of this booklet is to pass on information and details how China's conspiracy will reduce the 4th biggest river in the world to rain Fed River and convert the region in to desert. We should arise to the occasion, and address the problem collectively. Let us join hands to save Brahmaputra from Chinese conspiracy. Regards
