Kaziranga will host its first "Kaziranga Chess Carnival" on March 22-23, 2025, at Kaziranga National Park Higher Secondary School, Kohora.

Organized by the Aaghun Foundation and Assam Chess Club, the event features Under-10, Under-15, and Open category tournaments, along with free chess workshops, a quiz, and a film screening.

The tournament, supervised by international arbiter Biswajit Bharadwaj, follows a nine-round Swiss League format, with prizes worth over Rs 1 lakh.

Registration is open until March 17, with a Rs 500 entry fee.

Aaghun Foundation aims to establish a chess academy in Kaziranga, integrating chess into the region’s tourism model. More details at [www.aaghun.com].
