About us: Ecotourism Society of North East, established in the year 2010, is dedicated for the development and promotion of tourism scenario of North East India. We are a group of young professional’s expertise in sectors like tourism, hospitality, foreign language and yoga. We believe that galaxies of trained manpower in their respective genre are the grass roots of the tourism industry. Initiati
ves undertaken by the Eco tourism Society of North East:
1. Tree Bihu: Every year in the month of April our members travel to different parts of North East India and request the local people of those areas to plant saplings in their traditional attire. This not only helps in promoting our rich culture but also helps in preserving our environment.
2. Green Love: We celebrate “Green Love” on Valentine’s Day where we motivate people to gift traditional products to each other so that local people can get some extra earning by selling those traditional products. Also we request people visiting various parks and amusement places not to through plastics and other non degradable items in those places.
3. Prakriti Award: Every year the NGO gives “Prakriti Award” to the most planned and disciplined Durga Puja Committee, which shall also maintain the norms on cleanliness and hygiene.
4. Jagriti: Every year the NGO plants saplings in memory of 30th Oct Bomb Blast Victim. During Jagriti the NGO also collects used clothes from households and distributes the same among poor & needy people.
5. Eco Picnic: In the first week of January month the NGO celebrates “Eco Picnic” by placing temporary dustbins in the Brahmaputra River Front and other picnic places where dustbins are not available.
6. Eco Excursions: The NGO arranges “Eco Excursions” among school and college childrens to make the students aware about the tourism potentialities of North East India.
7. Felicitations: The NGO also felicitates tourists visiting North East India with good motive and thoughts. This helps in generating multiplier effects and results in an increase in the number of visitors.
8. Besides this the NGO also celebrates Republic Day, World Tourism Day, World Environment Day & Childrens Day.
