Yuva Nivas Sanstha is a Social Welfare Organisation started with an objective to support the working women and focus on the growth and development of the youth of this region. At a time when Guwahati city was struggling to provide basic accommodation facilities at an affordable price to women who had come out from remote places to the city to earn a living, the Founder Dinabandhabi Suchibrata Royc
houdhury along with a group of eminent social workers from this region, thought of setting up a 'Working Women's Hostel' for the lower income group. This was initially started under the scheme of 'Central Social Welfare Board' and extends all basic amenities to it's residents at an affordable price. With time, the Sanstha also extended it's work area in the field of education by establishing a ME School 'Ankur Vidyapith' , especially for the children from the lower income group. This was started on october 2, 1980 and is now successfully funcitoning with its upgradation to Primary section. Few other activities like opening of a duckery, poultry, craft training, Condensed Course of Education for Women were also undertaken by the Sanstha from time to time as an income-generating opportunity for the underprivileged section of the society.
