✨ Dance for Life | Spreading Awareness, Inspiring Change ✨

Snehbandhan – Bond of Love was proud to be a part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan initiative on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Through our energetic Flash Mob Group “Dance for Life”, we came together to spread the message of a drug-free India, using the power of dance, unity and awareness. 💃🕺❤️

Under the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan”, we believe that every step towards awareness is a step towards a healthier and stronger society.

Let’s dance for life, choose hope over addiction, and build a Nasha Mukt Bharat together! 🇮🇳

🌈 Sensitization Meeting with Stakeholders for the LGBTQ+ Community 🤝

On 29 August 2026, SnehBandhan – Bond of Love organized a stakeholder sensitization meeting at the PWD Convention & Training Centre, Dispur, Guwahati, bringing together government representatives, healthcare professionals, counsellors, media representatives and members of the transgender community.

The meeting focused on creating greater awareness, understanding and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community, with discussions around:

🏥 Inclusive healthcare & cancer screening
🧠 Mental health & counselling
📚 Education & institutional inclusion
🤝 Social acceptance and reducing stigma
📋 Government schemes & social entitlements
🪪 Transgender certification & documentation
📱 Positive and dignified LGBTQ+ representation

Stakeholders present included:

The meeting also included Dera Gurus Moina Guru and Tamana Guru, along with their chelas, who shared valuable community perspectives and lived experiences.

A key outcome was the proposed collaboration between SnehBandhan, ACCF and ASACS for free cancer screening for members of the transgender community, along with discussions around expanding access to counselling support in educational institutions.

🌈 Building Bridges Through Understanding & Acceptance ❤️

9 August 2026 | Parents’ Meetup

SnehBandhan successfully organised a Parents’ Meetup on 9 August 2026, bringing together around 6 parents for an open, safe and supportive conversation. 🤝

The meetup created a meaningful space for parents to share experiences, voice concerns, learn from one another, and understand the importance of acceptance, love and support for their children.

The interactive discussions were heartfelt, encouraging and truly fruitful. Together, we took another step towards building a stronger and more supportive parents’ network. 💙

We look forward to continuing these conversations and creating a community where every child feels accepted, supported and loved for who they are. 🏳️‍🌈

📍 Community Outreach Visit – Nagaon Dera

The SAHAS Team of Snehbandhan – Bond of Love visited the Nagaon Dera and met Guru Sapna Nayak along with her chelas. A total of 10 community members were present during the interaction.

The visit served as an important opportunity to engage with the transgender community, discuss issues affecting their lives, and share updates on ongoing developments and available support services. Meaningful conversations highlighted the experiences, challenges, concerns, and aspirations of community members while reinforcing the importance of continued engagement and collaboration.

Community outreach initiatives such as these play a vital role in promoting inclusion, strengthening support networks, and advancing the rights, dignity, and well-being of transgender persons.

Promoting health, awareness, and well-being for all. 🌿

On 11 March 2026, Snehbandhan – Bond of Love, in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Justice & Empowerment, Assam, Assam State AIDS Control Society, and the Joint Director of Health Services, Silchar, successfully organized a Health Camp in Silchar, Assam.

The camp featured free health screenings, basic health check-ups, HIV/AIDS and STI awareness sessions, and counseling on preventive healthcare and overall well-being. The initiative aimed to ensure accessible healthcare services while fostering awareness and healthier communities.

🏳️‍⚧️✨ **Empowering Through Rights, Health & Inclusion** ✨🏳️‍⚧️

On **10 March 2026**, a **Workshop on Transgender Rights and Health** was successfully held in **Silchar, Assam**, organized by **Snehbandhan – Bond of Love** in collaboration with the **Directorate of Social Justice & Empowerment, Assam**.

We were honored to have the presence of distinguished guests and speakers:

🔹 **Mrs. Shobhana Devi** – District Social Welfare Officer, Cachar
🔹 **Dr. Shivananda Ray** – SDMO, Epidemic Office of the Joint Director of Health Services, Cachar
🔹 **Ms. Devantina Sinha** – High Court Lawyer, New Delhi
🔹 **Mrs. Kalpana Sinha** – Social Worker
🔹 **Ms. Nandini Devi** – Hijra Guru

The workshop focused on awareness-building, dialogue, and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders. Engaging panel discussions brought together representatives from government departments, legal experts, civil society, private sector organizations, and members of the transgender community.

Key discussions covered:
📌 The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019
📌 Challenges in accessing rights, healthcare, and social services
📌 Strategies for inclusion, dignity, and empowerment
📌 The role of institutions in ensuring equality and non-discrimination

Participants actively shared their lived experiences and perspectives on social acceptance, healthcare access, education, employment, and livelihood opportunities. The discussions highlighted the importance of collective action in creating a more inclusive and equitable society for transgender persons.
