Imagine Losing Your Dog… and Finding Them in Seconds.

That’s now possible in Chennai. Over 12,000 dogs, both strays and pets, are microchipped with collars that reveal their breed, owner, vaccination status, and unique ID at a scan.

What's Happening?
> Mandatory Microchipping: All pet dogs must be microchipped to obtain a pet license. This microchip will contain vital information such as the dog's breed, owner's details, and vaccination status.
> Dedicated Tracking Portal: GCC is launching a new portal to register and track pet dogs, ensuring better management and monitoring.
> Fines for Non-Compliance: Owners who fail to microchip their pets may face fines up to ₹3,000, emphasizing the city's commitment to responsible pet ownership.

This isn’t just tech—it’s accountability, compassion, and safety rolled into one. Owners who don’t comply? A fine up to ₹3,000 awaits.
