Dishaa
An Educational Society
Dishaa is an initiative , to provide education to underprivileged children since 2007. Our Vision
Dishaa envisions that providing education support to children of workers in residential complexes such as Uniworld Gardens who come from close-by villages, would lead to goodwill within the larger community around us. Our Work
56 children have been admitted to a mainstre
am school. Our team of qualified and dedicated volunteers work on these children to improve their skills and groom them for admissions and provide them with after school tuitions to help them cope up. The children are also given a forum for expression in the form of music and dance performances at UG community. Our Approach
Our approach revolves around philanthropic involvement of resident volunteers. Apart from educational tuition to these children, we also impart knowledge on values, life skills and general knowledge. The idea is to focus on the development of the child which would benefit their family and the larger community. Share our model with others - We have seen that our approach of working from the grassroots, within our communities works. If other RWAs are interested in commencing similar initiative, Dishaa would be happy to share its model.
2. Financial support - We are open to getting sponsors for regular flow of funds to pay for the school fees, books, uniform, transport etc
3. Government schools - We are working at lending our support to improve the level of education and conditions in neighboring government schools. With our experience in Tikri village government school we have realized that these schools are very eager to get guidance from the urban educated classes to show them direction.
4. Looking for more private schools to admit the long list of waiting children
5. Skill based education- Any support is welcome in teaching the children skills such as stitching, tailoring, carpentry, pottery, electrical work etc to provide them vocational options. For more details please contact us at email : [email protected]
