VIDYA, founded in 1984, is a registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to the education and empowerment of children, youth and women. What started in the IIT Delhi campus with five students is now a multi-layered NGO that spearheads development programmes in some of the country's poorest neighbourhoods, primarily in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. In the Delhi and NCR region, Vidya provides fa

cilities for primary and secondary education, remedial classes and youth management. The centres aim to educate the country's less privileged - bright minds which might otherwise go deprived of learning. Through English classes, computer lessons, income-generation programmes, vocational training and more, Vidya tries to empower communities and enable them to achieve stable and independent lives.
