"Jamdani জামদানি" ইন Sharis & Kurtas. Durga Puja is not just a religious ritual, it is a Triumph of Tradition of Bengal, irrespective of its origin .... Jamdani is an example of such. It is the fine muslin textile. Where both "Baluchari / Swarnachari" of west Bengal & "Kantha Stich", depict Living figures from Epics & Folk, Jamdani strictly follows figures with different geometric patterns only !!... It is because of its origin, both locational & patron. South Rupshi of Narayanganj district on the bank of Sh*talakshya River was core of Jamdani production for centuries. And Jamdani was patronized by imperial warrants of the Mughal emperors & their Subedars i.e. Provincial Governors posted in Dhaka. In 2013, the traditional art of weaving jamdani was declared a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. (here member models are Bose, Achint Ganguli Gupta ghosh)

সারা দেশ যখন নবরাত্রির প্রস্তুতি নেয়, তখন বাঙালিদের দুর্গাপূজা ! দুর্গা পূজাতে বিভিন্ন রীতিনীতি ও প্রথার মধ্যে একটি হল ধুনুচি নাচ। এটি কেবল উৎসবটির অনিবার্য সমার্থক তাই নয়, বরং বাংলার এবং বাঙালির সাংস্কৃতিক পরিচয়ের একটি অন্তর্নিহিত অংশ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। এই নৃত্য পরিবেশন করার সময় হাতে ধুনুচি ধারণ করা হয়, শুকনো নারকেল ছোবড়াতে আগুন লাগিয়ে তার উপরে ধুনো এবং কর্পূর দেওয়া হয়। ধুনো হল সাল গাছের রজন। দেবী দুর্গাকে ধন্যবাদ জানাতে ঢাকের বাদ্যের তালে তালে ধুনুচি নৃত্য পরিবেশিত হয়!
