Nimsang Limboo, our trail blazer is chasing the 65 KM finish line at the 6th edition of The Buddha Trails here in Rimbick. Nimsang currently holds the course record for 30 KM and this is the first time ever that Nimsang is running the full 65 KM course and we hope the Sleeping Buddha blesses him with all the lightness and some breeze under his wings.

He is running it again, this year - it's 15th March. Nimsang is in Nepal and is going to run the 50 KM category at Manjushree Trail Run 2025.

Last year, he did it in 07:18:11 hours. The race has an elevation gain of 3450m D+. It has 4 aid stations and scores 3 ITRA Points.

We wish Nimsang a great run. Let's follow the race to see what happens. 🤞

Almost a week before they left for Thailand, Team HRSF was at BRUTE4.0. This just happens to be the most endearing memory from this race. Devender Thakur walks back after finishing 5th with several pain in his right leg.

It's painful to watch our champions limp in the trails and Brute, it was just painful watching Devender carey thebtrails with spine chilling pain - yet he came back in 04:08:41seconds.

Both the athletes at HRSF are from two different extremes of Indian culture - one from a small town in Sikkim and other from the remote lands of Lahaul Valley. At times, it's warmly enadearing to see Nimsang try and understand the North Indian Hindi while Devender trying to make Nimsang understand what he is trying to say.

Both Nimsang and Devender are in Thailand now - representing HRSF at the HMONG 50 of

UTMB Chiang Mai 2025. We have our fingers crossed and hopes high for both our champions.
We will keep you posted with what happens at the race.

And that's what we call a giant leap - Devender Thakur, the HRSF elite makes the numbers do the talking at a whole new level.

From the last ITRA SCORE of 680 at Hanumangarh Epic held in May 2024, Devender takes it to 755 and leaves it for all of us to do the maths after the Mount Patalsu Challenge stunner he pulled up at the Solang SkyUltra 2024 held in the first week of October.

In about 5 months, with your support, dedicated coaching and relentless hard work, Devender climbs from the 18th to the 2nd spot in the country ranking for trail runners in India. In his age category, Devender, of course, sits at the top. Here is a happy trivia - HRSF Athlete Nimsang still sits at the top with a total Performance index of 784. Devender, now, holds a Performance Index of 733. To sum it up, we are delighted to tell you that your support systems have ensured that the two of the HRSF Athletes hold the top two positions in India.

Meanwhile, there is a rather disappointing update - the VISA applications for both Nimsang and Devender for the APTRC 2024 in South Korea didn't go through as they were rejected by the embassy. We did try our best to get them through but it looked like a futile effort as it was the same case for a majority of selected athletes from India.
We thought you all should know.

Our efforts for pushing the bar of trail running performances in India continue with your unending support. Do take a moment to celebrate and cheer for Devender in the comments.

"Haven't been able to get a good warm up, but I will see you guys by 9:30 am at the finish line." - has yet again pranced upon the trails to Mount Patalsu.

Fingers crossed for a path breaking performance. 🤞

Taking mud from the trails to a whole new meaning - HRSF Athlete shares this 'leg-warming' photo from his training days for the Asia Pacific Trail Running Championship 2024.

Our athletes are taking it all - mud, sweat, wind, cold rain and water. For whatever it takes, they have got to push the Indian bar at this championship.

Devender Thakur | ITRA PI*: 662 | Best Score : 680 | Races Finished: 03
-----
From humble beginnings to a national trail running star, Devender Thakur's story is an embodiment of the transformative power of opportunities that the sport of trail running brings.

Devender's journey is a testament to resilience and the power of untapped potential. A champion mountain biker from a far off Himalayan village, Devender is relatively new to the sport of trail running. His determination and experience of endurance racing from the MTB days has propelled him to new heights in the trail running sport and he is now conquering some new frontiers. With limited resources and almost no formal training in trail racing, Devender has proven himself a natural talent, winning local races and displaying a raw potential that could propel him to national stardom.

Here is a glimpse into what Davy has achieved over the years - from his cycling days to trail running :

MTB Uttarakhand 2019: 1st Place

Northquest MTB Challenge: 2nd Place

MTB Kerala 2018: 2nd Place

MTB Challenge 2018, 2019: 1st Place

Mt. Patalu Challenge 2020: 1st Place

Mt Patalsu Challenge 2023: 1st Place

Hanumangarh EPic 2023 : 2nd Place

Hanumangarh Epic 2024: 1st Place

We are now supporting Devender to race the short distance category of 40KM at Asia Pacific Trail Running Championship in South Korea. To truly compete, Devender needs support, access to specialized coaching, proper nutrition, and the opportunity to race against the world's best. While we are doing the best we can, you can also join hands in helping us push this support system.
