🌍 Earth Day 2026 | Our Power, Our Planet: Empowering Girls for a Greener Tomorrow

On the occasion of Earth Day 2026, observed on 22nd and 23rd April, Sukarya’s Gender Equality Projects organized awareness activities across communities and schools in Delhi and Gurugram, engaging 105 adolescent girls in meaningful environmental action. 💚

The sessions were marked by enthusiasm, creativity, and thoughtful dialogue. Through poster-making and interactive discussions, participants explored this year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” and deepened their understanding of environmental responsibility. 🌿

The girls highlighted practical, everyday actions such as conserving water 💧, reducing plastic use 🚫, planting trees 🌳, and maintaining clean surroundings—recognizing how small steps can collectively create a significant impact. 🌏

A defining aspect of the initiative was the confidence and leadership displayed by the participants, as they shared ideas and motivated one another to take ownership of their environment.

Empowering girls with knowledge and a platform to lead not only strengthens their voices but also contributes to building a more sustainable and equitable future for all. ✨

Nutrition should be treated as medicine.
Nutrition is not a standalone intervention.
At Sukarya, it is integrated across everything we do—from mothers and young children to adolescents and school-going children.

Because addressing malnutrition requires more than one approach.
It requires consistent care, awareness, and support across life stages.

Empowering Adolescent Girls this World Health Day!

Celebrating World Health Day (7th April 2026) with the theme “Together for health. Stand with science,” Sukarya placed adolescent girls at the heart of change.

On 8th April at Bhawani Enclave, Gurugram, under our project “Give Her a Voice: Adolescent Girls Empowerment – A Step Towards Gender Equality,” supported by OakNorth, 40 adolescent girls came together for an inspiring journey toward better health and well-being.

Through engaging discussions on nutrition, self-care, mental health, hygiene, and healthy lifestyles, the girls explored what it truly means to take charge of their health. Our Lead Girls emerged as changemakers—confidently sharing knowledge, raising awareness, and inspiring their peers.

This initiative is a powerful step towards nurturing informed, confident, and healthy young girls who can shape a stronger future.

Change begins at the doorstep. And she makes it happen.

Sukarya’s Community Health Worker is from the same community—someone women trust and relate to.

She visits regularly, listens, guides, and follows up—helping women understand nutrition, pregnancy care, breastfeeding, immunization, and child health.

But her role goes beyond one conversation.

She addresses myths, builds trust, and engages family members—including husbands and mothers-in-law—so that women receive support not just at the clinic, but at home.

Working alongside ASHAs, ANMs, and Anganwadi workers, she strengthens last-mile service delivery—linking communities to Sukarya’s interventions and essential government health services.

Because real change is not built in one visit.
It is built through trust, continuity, and presence.
