Deaf Empowerment Program was held in Gorakhpur on 25 December 2025 at Reserve Police Line.
Chief Guest Vipin Singh, MLA, attended the program at 1:30 PM and addressed the Deaf community.
The program focused on Sign Language recognition, Deaf rights, and inclusive governance.
It was successfully organised by Deaf Welfare Society, Gorakhpur.

(Organized in connection with the International Day of Sign Languages) ๐ŸŒโœจ

Access for All Network Society (Kushinagar) organized a One-Day Indian Sign Language (ISL) Training Program for Kushinagar Police on 9th October 2025 at Police Line, Kushinagar.
Around 200 police officers and staff members actively participated in this meaningful and inclusive session.

The training was conducted by Mr. Pankaj Kumar Gupta, Former President and Advisor of the Deaf Welfare Society, Gorakhpur, who was invited by Mr. Rakesh Mishra from Kushinagar (Executive Member, DWS Gorakhpur).

He was supported by Mr. Ankur Srivastava, Mr. Tabrez Alam, and Interpreter Mr. Sahaja Nand.

The training focused on teaching essential ISL signs such as accident, address, crime, doctor, police, and emergency, enabling police officers to communicate effectively with Deaf citizens.

๐ŸŒ Happy International Week of Deaf People 2025! ๐ŸคŸ

Deaf Welfare Society, Gorakhpur is happy to share that our Advisor Mr. Pankaj Kumar Gupta will participate in the Deaf Community Rule Awareness Event organised by Agra Deaf Enable Society (ADES) under Mission Shakti 5.0.

The event aims to empower Deaf people, promote equality, and encourage leadership and inclusion in the Deaf community.

We are also glad to share that Mrs. Priti Shah Soni, Founder of Deaf Can Foundation (DCF) and Women Secretary of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), will deliver an inspirational lecture on 2nd November 2025.

Ayodhya District Association of the Deaf (ADAD) graciously invited Pankaj Kumar Gupta, Former President and present Advisor of Deaf Welfare Society, Gorakhpur, as a special guest on 28th September at Gandhi Udyan, Ayodhya.

He delivered an engaging lecture on the International Day of Sign Languages (IDSL), the International Week of Deaf People (IWDP), and Youth Empowerment.

It was inspiring to witness the active participation of the Deaf community, whose energy and interest made the programme truly meaningful. Events like this help spread awareness about Sign Language, Deaf culture, and empower youth for a brighter future.

The training program was successfully conducted for 100 police personnel to enhance communication skills with the Deaf community.

This initiative, hosted by Gorakhpur Police and supported by Uttar Pradesh Badhir Federation (Regd.), Lucknow (affiliated with the National Association of the Deaf, New Delhi), aimed at building inclusivity and strengthening accessibility for the Deaf community.

The active participation and enthusiasm of the police officers reflected a strong commitment towards better communication, understanding, and service for the Deaf citizens.

Indian Sign Language (ISL) Training Workshop โ€“ Reserve Police Line, Gorakhpur

An Indian Sign Language Training Workshop was successfully held at the Reserve Police Line, Gorakhpur, on 14th September 2025, with the active participation of more than 100 police officers and staff from various police stations.

Objectives of the Workshop

To provide police personnel with basic ISL skills for effective communication with Deaf citizens.

To promote equality, inclusion, and social sensitivity within the police force.

Financial Literacy Program for the Deaf Community
15th June 2025 | Venue: CRC-Gorakhpur

Deaf Welfare Society, Gorakhpur, successfully organized a meaningful Financial Literacy Seminar in collaboration with CRC-Gorakhpur and supported by HDFC Mutual Fund HDFC Mutual Fund.
