In order to bring improvement and make the traditional cremation system more environment friendly Mokshda PEVSS has been working since 1992 to develop an energy efficient and environment friendly wood based cremation system. After a dedicated research and development work and having surveyed over 3500 cremation grounds around the country and obtaining views of public, religious heads and other sta

ke holders, the MGCS has been developed. In this system no electricity is required and cremation is done traditionally by burning wood and performing all the traditional rituals. MGCS helps in saving wood by more than 60% and thereby not only help in conserving our forest but in making the process affordable for the economically weaker group of people. Pollution abatement of rivers and minimization of green house gas emissions are other important benefits offered by the process.
