🚜🌾 Transforming Agriculture, Strengthening Communities

Access to modern farm machinery can make the difference between struggle and success for small and marginal farmers. Through the SBI Gram Seva Project, supported by SBI Foundation and implemented by Dilasa Sanstha, farmers across multiple villages are gaining access to affordable tractor and agricultural equipment services.

By reducing cultivation costs, improving farm productivity, and ensuring timely agricultural operations, this initiative is helping farming families build more sustainable and resilient livelihoods.

This documentary showcases the stories of change, collaboration, and hope emerging from rural Maharashtra—where community-led agricultural mechanization is creating lasting impact.

🎥 Watch the documentary and witness how access to the right resources is empowering farmers and transforming villages.

🌱🌍 World Environment Day 2026 Celebration 🌍🌱

World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across villages under the SBI Gram Seva and SBI Gram Saksham Projects supported by SBI Foundation.

The celebrations included tree plantation drives, awareness activities on environmental protection, water conservation, and sustainable agriculture. A key highlight was the treatment of 4 km of stream using the Doha Model Technique, contributing to water conservation and groundwater recharge for farming communities.

Farmers were also encouraged to adopt eco-friendly agricultural practices through the use of vermicompost and other organic inputs. Students, villagers, women SHG members, farmers, Gram Panchayat representatives, and project staff actively participated in the events.

Together, these initiatives are creating greener, water-secure, and climate-resilient villages for a sustainable future. The celebrations and conservation efforts were also covered by Deshonnati newspaper.

💧 “Water is life — let’s save it for our future.”

On the occasion of World Water Day, we reaffirm our commitment to building water-secure communities. For the past 7 years, SBI Foundation, in partnership with Dilasa Sanstha, has been working holistically across every aspect of water management.

From groundwater recharge and increasing well water levels to ensuring access to clean drinking water, our approach focuses on sustainable and long-term impact. We also recognize that water security is not just about availability — it’s about equity and dignity.

✔️ Ensuring water availability for livestock
✔️ Reducing women’s drudgery by bringing water closer to homes
✔️ Promoting efficient irrigation practices for farmers

This year, our work continues in Wardha and Beed districts, where we aim to make villages water surplus using the Sunken Doha model, a low-cost and effective technique developed by Dilasa.

Together, we are not just conserving water — we are transforming lives.

A meaningful beginning at Hingani, Beed district, in the Marathwada region 🌱🙏

On the birth anniversary of our founder Madhukar Ji Dhas, we initiated the DOHA watershed model work with a traditional pujan. Starting this work on such a significant day made the moment deeply emotional and inspiring for the entire team.

This watershed initiative is being supported by SBI Foundation, Mumbai strengthening our collective commitment towards sustainable soil and water conservation in Marathwada

Along with the inauguration, we conducted an extensive field visit across Hingani, Aamla, Kasra, Kacharwadi, Motewadi, and Bodhka, engaging directly with farmers. Discussions focused on how they can derive maximum benefits from Kisan Seva Kendra (KSK) services for improved agricultural productivity and livelihoods.

We also interacted with students and held discussions around the computer lab, encouraging digital learning and highlighting the importance of technology in education and future opportunities 💻📚.

A day rooted in remembrance, action, and hope—taking forward the vision of our founder through people-centric and sustainable development. 🌾✨
