A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making GAC 2026 such a memorable and successful event. Your enthusiasm, support, and active participation made it truly special.

The program ran smoothly overall, with only a scene towards the end deviating from the planned script. While that was unexpected, it has given us valuable insights.

We now have a much clearer picture of our strengths, gaps, and areas for improvement. Moving forward, we aim to bring greater professionalism and structured processes to our events, while preserving the personal warmth and care that define our community—shifting emphasis from personal connections to institutional excellence.

We received a wealth of thoughtful suggestions, advice, and constructive concerns during and after the event. All of these will be carefully reviewed and incorporated where possible.

Overall, the inaugural GAC can confidently be called a success — thank you once again for making it happen.

Looking ahead – short-term initiatives:
• We will coordinate student education exchange and excursion programs in collaboration with ADTU. The first batch of 20–30 students is expected to travel to Japan and South Korea this summer.
�→ Volunteers needed: We are looking for chaperones (1 chaperone per group of 10 students). If you are interested and available, please let us know as soon as possible.
• We will continue supporting the Science & Technology outreach program led by Karuna Kalita (Professor, IIT-Guwahati). Please feel free to reach out to him directly if you would like to contribute or get involved.

We will keep the website regularly updated with progress on these and other initiatives.
There are also several promising medium- and long-term projects proposed by respected members of the diaspora. We are very optimistic about their potential and will actively encourage and utilize the skills, experience, and expertise that our global community brings.

Let’s continue exploring and promoting individual initiatives opportunities for sustainable development— both within and beyond boundaries — and build something even stronger together.

With deepest gratitude for your tireless efforts that brought every plan to life, fostered meaningful connections, and laid a strong foundation for Assam’s Diaspora— we look forward to meeting again in the next year and making the next edition even more unforgettable.

The 1st Global Assamese Convention concluded on a historic and inspiring note, marking a proud milestone for the global Assamese community. Over the course of the convention, voices from across the world came together to celebrate our shared language, culture, heritage, and collective aspirations.
The convention witnessed meaningful discussions, cultural exchanges, and visionary ideas focused on preserving Assamese identity while embracing global perspectives. It strengthened bonds among Assamese people living across continents and reaffirmed our commitment to unity, inclusivity, and cultural pride.

With active participation from scholars, artists, professionals, youth, and community leaders, the convention successfully created a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and future initiatives. The energy, enthusiasm, and sense of belonging felt throughout the event will continue to inspire efforts to promote Assamese language and culture worldwide.
As the curtains fall on this landmark gathering, the spirit of the 1st Global Assamese Convention lives on guiding us toward stronger global connections and a vibrant future for the Assamese community.
