WORLD PRIMATE DAY, 2027 🐒

On World Primate Day, AWRRO celebrates the incredible primates that enrich Assam’s forests and ecosystems. From seed dispersal to forest regeneration, these remarkable animals play an essential role in maintaining nature’s balance.

Yet, habitat loss, fragmentation, human–wildlife conflict and illegal wildlife trade continue to threaten their survival. Let us come together to protect their habitats, promote coexistence, spread awareness, and safeguard their future.

Protect Primates. Protect Forests. Protect Our Future.💚🌳

Celebrating the Gentle Giants on World Elephant Day 2026 🐘

The World Elephant Day Celebration and Felicitation Programme was proudly organised by Pakke Tiger Reserve & Wildlife Sanctuary, Seijosa, Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with Team AWRRO (Assam Wildlife Rescue and Research Organisation), Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), IFAW & other nature conservation organisatios. We came together to celebrate and honour one of nature’s most magnificent beings, the elephant.

The programme was a heartfelt celebration of elephant conservation, recognising the dedication and efforts of those working tirelessly for wildlife rescue, research, protection and conservation. It was also a meaningful reminder that protecting elephants means protecting forests, biodiversity and the delicate balance of our natural world. 💚

Let their footprints remain in our forests for generations to come. 🐘🌳

World Snake Day | Why Snakes Matter

Today, on World Snake Day, let's celebrate one of nature's most misunderstood creatures.

Snakes play a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems. They naturally control rodent populations, helping protect crops, reduce the spread of diseases, and maintain ecological balance. They are also an important part of the food chain, serving as both predators and prey.

Imagine a world without snakes. Rodent populations would explode, causing severe damage to agriculture, increasing food loss, and spreading diseases more rapidly. The disappearance of snakes would disrupt the balance of nature, affecting countless other species and weakening entire ecosystems.

Instead of fearing snakes, we should learn to respect them. Most snakes are non-venomous, and even venomous species usually avoid humans unless threatened. By protecting snakes and their habitats, we help protect biodiversity and the health of our planet.

This World Snake Day, let's replace fear with knowledge and work together to conserve these remarkable reptiles.

Protect Snakes. Protect Nature. Protect Our Future. 🐍💚

"International Day for Biological Diversity, 2026" reminds us that biodiversity is the foundation of a healthy planet.
On this special occasion, AWRRO reaffirms its commitment towards the conservation of biodiversity and ecological balance. Every species, from the smallest insect to the largest mammal, plays a vital role in sustaining life on Earth. Let us work together to protect nature for future generations. 🌿🦋

🐝 **World Bee Day 2026** 🐝

Imagine a world without bees…
No buzzing in the gardens, fewer flowers blooming, and empty plates where fruits, vegetables, and nuts once existed. 🌍💔

Bees are tiny creatures with a huge responsibility — they pollinate nearly one-third of the food we eat and help maintain the balance of our ecosystems. Without them, biodiversity would decline, crops would suffer, and nature itself would struggle to survive.

Today, on World Bee Day, let us promise to protect our pollinators by:

🌼 Planting bee-friendly flowers
🚫 Reducing harmful pesticides
🌱 Supporting organic and sustainable farming
💧 Providing clean water and safe habitats for bees
📢 Spreading awareness about bee conservation

Every bee matters. Every flower counts. Together, we can create a future where bees continue to thrive and keep our planet alive. 🌎✨

Golden Jackal (Canis aureus Linnaeus, 1758), a highly adaptable wild canid found across Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Europe. Often misunderstood, this intelligent scavenger plays a crucial ecological role by cleaning carrion and helping control rodent populations.
Despite their resilience, habitat loss and human conflict continue to threaten local populations. Protecting landscapes means protecting species like the Golden Jackal that quietly keep ecosystems balanced. 🐾🌿

On the occasion of "World Wetlands Day (2nd February)", AWRRO proudly joined hands with Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve to celebrate the theme “Wetlands & Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating the Cultural Heritage" at Eastern Range, Gamiri under Biswanath Wildlife divisions.
The event highlighted the vital role of wetlands in sustaining biodiversity and livelihoods, while honoring the wisdom of traditional communities in conserving these precious ecosystems. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting wetlands for a sustainable future. 💧🌏
