Today at Daddy's Home, Buddavaram, we had the privilege of celebrating a special occasion— the birthday of Ms. Vangaveeti Asha Kiran, daughter of the late legendary Andhra Pradesh Congress leader, Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Rao.

Ms. Asha Kiran, who formally entered politics in November 2025, is also the President of the Radha Ranga Mithra Mandali. Her visit made this day truly memorable for all of us.

The children and staff of Daddy's Home were honored and delighted by her gracious presence and the time she spent with us on this special occasion.

We extend our heartfelt birthday wishes to Ms. Vangaveeti Asha Kiran and pray that she is blessed with good health, happiness, and continued success in all her future endeavors.

Sebastian KALAYATHINAL (1951-2026) was a member of the Montfort Brothers of St Gabriel - a well known Catholic congregation that run educational institutions around the world. Their institutions in India are among the best. Br Sebastian was with the first batch of Brothers at St John's School, Gannavaram. In the early 1990s he decided to leave the comfort of this elite Institution and reach out to kids on the streets of Vijayawada. He rented a couple of rooms and set up HAPPY HOME at Gandhinagar in Vijayawada, trusting solely in the providence of God. He was a pioneer in the rescue and rehabilitation of street kids in Vijayawada. Many children (adults now with children of their own) owe their lives to him. Being a teacher he was a strict disciplinarian but he loved and cared for his kids. He even personally cooked for them. He spent time with them, personally teaching them, trying to bridge the academic gaps that they all had from time spent on the streets. His kids proudly displayed their note books and art work. Each one had their own collection which he preserved. And if he lacked space and had cramped quarters the kids excelled in Indoor games and there were a couple of "Chess Grandmasters" among them. We, at Care & Share, were happy to be associated with him over the years and glad that he spent his last days with us. Br Sebastian as he is fondly called will be always remembered by "his kids" and all who knew him. May God reward him for taking care of His Children. RIP
