Today, on behalf of the Sikkim Youth Welfare Association, we officially handed over a mentally unstable woman, who is approximately three months pregnant, to Shakti Sadan for proper care and protection.

Our association would like to express sincere gratitude to the Women ,Child , Senior Citizens and Divyangjan Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim for taking prompt and positive action in providing shelter and support to the victim. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff members of Shakti Sadan for accepting the responsibility of caring for her during this critical period. She will remain under their care until the delivery of her child. After the birth of the child, our association may take further responsibility by shifting her to our shelter for continued support and rehabilitation.

The Sikkim Youth Welfare Association remains firmly committed to supporting destitute, vulnerable, and mentally challenged individuals who are in need of protection and humanitarian assistance.

In connection with this matter, an FIR has already been registered at Ranipool Police Station against unknown persons responsible for the pregnancy of the victim. We are highly hopeful and confident that the concerned police authorities will conduct a thorough investigation, identify the accused, and ensure strict legal action against those involved in this heinous crime.

We strongly believe that this case must serve as a lesson to society, so that individuals think many times before committing crimes against vulnerable women and girl children. Crimes against mentally challenged women are not only inhuman but also a serious violation of human rights and dignity.

We further appeal to the public that if anyone becomes aware of such incidents in their locality or surrounding areas, they should immediately inform our association or the concerned authorities. We assure society that the identity of the informer will be kept completely confidential.

Let us unite together to stop crimes against girl children, women, and mentally challenged individuals. Humanity and justice can only prevail when society stands together against violence and exploitation.

Meeting with Executive Members of Sikkim Divyang Shayata shamiti, Zero point Gangtok

In this world, people and society often come forward to support someone only after they become successful, self-sufficient, or strong. Sadly, this has become a common tradition of society.

But we believe true humanity becomes more meaningful and worthwhile when support is given to someone during their struggles, when they are in need, and at the beginning of their journey.

Sikkim Youth Welfare Association will always remain grateful for the selfless support and encouragement extended towards our organisation.

Today’s fruitful meeting with the executive members of Sikkim Divyang Sahayata Samiti was truly inspiring and meaningful. We look forward to working together for the welfare and upliftment of society.

Fiollow-up Update – SYWA Intervention

Today, Team SYWA continued the follow-up from yesterday’s home visit i.e 25th April 26. Based on observations during the counselling session, we identified certain concerns that required immediate psychiatric evaluation.

Accordingly, the individual was taken to Manipal Hospital for a psychiatric consultation. After a thorough assessment, it was confirmed that there were no severe psychiatric complications that would hinder the recovery process.

Following medical guidance, the individual has now been safely admitted to Divine Detoxification & Rehabilitation Centre, Namthang (Rataypani), South Sikkim for further treatment and recovery.

SYWA remains committed to standing beside individuals and families struggling with drug abuse and alcohol dependency.

If any family is facing similar challenges, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We provide home visits, counselling, and full support throughout the recovery journey.

Together, we can bring change. SYWA is always ready to support those who truly want to start a new life.

Today, Team SYWA conducted a home visit to counsel and support an individual struggling with unwanted habits. After interacting and understanding his condition, we realized that he urgently requires medical intervention to overcome his current situation.

Tomorrow, we will be taking him to the hospital and will extend every possible support from our Association to help him begin his journey toward recovery.

If anyone is facing challenges related to drug abuse or alcohol dependency and is willing to start a new life, SYWA is here to help. We also provide home visits for counseling and support.

SYWA stands firmly with those who are ready to take the first step toward change and a better future.

On the special birthday of little Shivansh, beloved son of Shri Sher Bahadur Manger, SHO Melli, police station,
this day became more than just a celebration—it became a beautiful act of humanity.

Instead of limiting the joy within walls, the family chose to share it with those who needed it the most…
reaching out to the homeless,
standing beside the unheard,
and spreading smiles where life is often filled with struggles.

In a world where celebrations are often grand,
this simple yet powerful gesture reminds us that true happiness lies in giving…
that the purest blessings come when we lift others along with us.

This is not just a birthday,
it is a message…
a lesson for all of us to be kinder, more compassionate, and more human.

Heartfelt gratitude to you, Sir, for setting such a meaningful example.
May this inspire many more to celebrate life by touching lives.

Thank you
