In a soulful celebration, millions of devotees from 182 countries join Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to express gratitude and celebrate this Guru Purnima
10th July 2025: From South America to Australia, India, Africa, and across all continents, waves of devotion swept through thousands of cities as millions of devotees celebrated Guru Purnima—expressing their deep gratitude for the happiness and wisdom brought into their lives by the spiritual master, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Gurudev led the global Guru Purnima celebration from the Art of Living Ashram in Boone, North Carolina (United States), where millions of devotees joined both in person and via live webcast from 182 countries.
On the eve of Guru Purnima, Gurudev guided participants through a special, blissful full moon meditation. The celebrations continued with the timeless tradition of honoring the lineage of spiritual masters. Swami Vachanand ji of Shwaasa Yoga also joined the celebrations.
“The air is all around you; you don’t feel it unless you put your attention on it,” Gurudev shared. “Similarly, Guru Purnima is the day to feel the connection and gratitude—and that takes us forward. The Guru relieves us of all sorrows, joy wells up, knowledge dawns, and talents blossom. All these qualities simply blossom in the presence of the Guru.”
In India, Guru Purnima was celebrated at all the Art of Living chapters with special Guru Pooja ceremony, grand satsangs with everyone joining the global Art of Living family for the worldwide celebrations from Boone, US through webcast. Here's a snapshot of countrywide celebrations.
At The Art of Living International Center in Bengaluru, celebrations started with meditation and Dakshinamurthy Homa, a Vedic fire ritual invoking Lord Dakshinamoorthy, the embodiment of supreme wisdom, to bless seekers with knowledge and spiritual awakening, followed by a serene yet powerfully moving Samuhik Gurupuja with Smt Bhanumathi Narasimhan, the venerable sister of Gurudev, along with more than 150 Guru Puja pandits.
In New Delhi, devotees swayed and danced to the soul stirring bhajans of Sahil Jagtiani at the iconic Bharat Mandapam, with five thousand devotees filling the auditorium to capacity participating in the program.
In Sikkim, devotees of the Art of Living gathered in their respective centres to celebrate Guru Purnima through devotional songs and prayers.
