Press Release on Meeting of District Mission Authority of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA)

The combined meeting of District Mission Authority of RMSA was held in the conference hall of Human Resource Development Department (HRDD) on 22/10/2016. The first half meeting was chaired by Shri M. T. Sherpa, Director, School Education cm SPD-RMSA, who is also the chairman of the District Mission Authority of RMSA, where as the second half and main part of the meeting was chaired by Shri G.P. Upadhyaya, Principal Secretary, HRDD as the Chief Guest. The meeting was participated by the all four district Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, officials of State Project Office, RMSA, Engineering Cell, and Heads of 33 Senior Secondary and secondary schools. The meeting began with welcome address and presentation of brief background of the meeting by Shri K.C. Gyatso, Joint Director, RMSA. This was followed by address of the Director, School Education and SPD, RMSA, in which he highlighted various issues of importance regarding integrated RMSA schemes and its implementation, timely completion of projects, Utilization Certificates (UC), vocationalization of secondary education, ICT @ Schools, IEDSS schemes etc. Thereafter, Smt. Kabita Moktan, Deputy Director, RMSA presented brief presentation on RMSA. The meeting also had very fruitful interactive session.
The meeting discussed several issues relating to implementation of RMSA schemes, evaluation of progress of civil works, preparation and furnishing of UCs in proper formats, utilization of school grants etc. The Director, School Education also requested the District Joint Directors for ensuring appropriate observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas commencing from 31st October 2016. The other issues discussed in the meeting included the holding of Shaala Sidhi workshop on 4-5 November 2016 for State Core Group and Heads of the Institutions. The Principal Secretary, HRDD, who chaired the second half of the meeting released the first instalment of fund amounting to Rs.81.642 lac out of total approval of Rs.272.14 lac for civil works to 33 Secondary/Senior Secondary Schools of East, South and West Districts and handed over the cheques to District Joint Directors for implementation through School Management Committees. While addressing the meeting as the Chief Guest, he requested all district and school heads to work diligently in the best interest of the state. He also compared the schools as temples and urged all concerned to take ownership of their assignments with accountability and responsibility. He stressed that our efforts in the Department would have meaning only when there is tangible positive improvements in our school system.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks proposed by Shri Bilal Prabhakar, Deputy Director, RMSA/ICT.
