The Temi Innovation Festival 2026, held on 15th and 16th April at Temi, South Sikkim, marked a historic milestone as Sikkim’s first-ever innovation festival. Organized by the Discover Temi Team in collaboration with the Sikkim State Council of Science & Technology and the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Sikkim, the event brought together young innovators, students, educators, and visionaries on a dynamic platform.
The primary objective of the festival was to promote innovation, creativity, and awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among the youth and the general public. The two-day event featured a wide range of activities including innovation displays, TIF Talks, and IPR awareness sessions, providing participants an opportunity to showcase their ideas and learn from experts.
The festival witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries, policymakers, and education leaders, whose encouragement inspired young minds to think creatively and pursue innovation-driven solutions. Schools and individual innovators actively participated, presenting impactful projects addressing real-world challenges.
More than just an event, the Temi Innovation Festival served as a powerful platform connecting grassroots creativity with scientific advancement, fostering a culture of innovation in the region. It successfully highlighted the potential of youth-led ideas and reinforced the importance of nurturing innovation for a sustainable and progressive future.The festival was in line with the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim,Prem Singh Tamang-Golay emphasizing youth empowerment, grassroots innovation, and building a self-reliant and progressive Sikkim.
