Local ideas and entrepreneurial ambition took centre stage at Sikkim’s first-ever Udyami Bharosa Sammelan, held at Manan Kendra on September 28, 2026.

Organised by the Commerce and Industries Department in collaboration with SEED Cell, the event was attended by Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) as Chief Guest, alongside Commerce and Industries and Tourism & Civil Aviation Minister Shri Tshering Thendup Bhutia.

The gathering celebrated local entrepreneurs and emerging talent, carrying forward the State Government’s “One Family, One Entrepreneur” vision. Addressing participants, the Chief Minister encouraged aspiring business owners to dream big, start small and support locally made products and services.

A major highlight was the recognition and prize distribution for winners of Sikkim RISE, a month-long start-up competition under the Sikkim INSPIRE Project. Entrepreneurial journeys, start-up pitches and new partnerships added to the programme, while 80 beneficiaries received cheques under the Mukhya Mantri Udyamshilta Yojana.

The Sammelan reinforced a shared ambition: helping Sikkim’s homegrown ideas grow into sustainable businesses that create opportunities for others.

Sikkim’s entrepreneurs and emerging business ideas are set to take centre stage tomorrow as the 1st Udyami Bharosa Sammelan gets underway at Manan Kendra, Gangtok, on September 28. 🔥

Organised by the Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with SEED Cell, the programme is scheduled to be attended by Hon’ble Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) as Chief Guest.

A major highlight of the Sammelan will be the recognition and prize distribution for entrepreneurs selected through Sikkim RISE – Realizing Ideas, Shaping Entrepreneurship, a State-level entrepreneurship programme conducted under the Sikkim INSPIRES initiative.

The event will bring together entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners and government stakeholders, creating a platform centred around homegrown ideas, entrepreneurship and the people working to turn those ideas into businesses.

With the Sammelan happening tomorrow morning at Manan Kendra, the spotlight will be on Sikkim’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem and the emerging businesses shaping its future.

Kunzang Choeki Represents Sikkim at Indian Philanthropy Forum 2026 in New York 🔥

Taking Sikkim’s story to an international platform, Kunzang Choeki is representing the state at the Indian Philanthropy Forum 2026 in New York City, hosted by DASRA.

The update marks another milestone in her United States journey, which was announced earlier with plans to participate in workshops at Harvard University, MIT and other leading institutions.

Her visit also aims to showcase Sikkim’s Charter School initiatives, share the state’s efforts in education and explore ideas that could support learning back home.

Ahead of her departure, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim extended his best wishes, encouraging her to learn from global institutions and bring valuable knowledge back to the state.

From Sikkim to New York, Choeki’s journey continues to open doors for learning, exchange and greater visibility for the state.

Gangtok is set for another dose of football action as the LYDC Veterans Champion Trophy Football Tournament 2026 gets underway at Paljor Stadium from September 24 🔥

Organised by the Lal Bazar Youth Development Committee (LYDC), Gangtok, the knockout tournament will feature teams from across Sikkim, along with sides representing places including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong and Siliguri.

The fixture promises several exciting match-ups as teams battle their way through the opening rounds, quarter-finals and semi-finals, with the grand final scheduled for October 4 at Paljor Stadium.

There’s plenty at stake too, with the champions taking home ₹1 lakh, while the runners-up will receive ₹50,000.

Aro Social held Gangtok’s first Run Rave earlier today, bringing together a 5K community run, and music for a fresh take on the city’s weekend scene.

With MG Marg Tourism as the start and finish point, the event combined a run through Gangtok with a celebration built around movement, music and community.

The Run Rave was co-organised by Ravens Basketball Club & Hotel Rendezvous. DJ Kay came on board as the official event DJ, alongside sustainability partner Denzong Clean Co. and official media partner Sikkim Hype.

Presented by Jinozi, the upcoming show is shaping up to be one of Gangtok’s major nightlife events this month, bringing one of Nepal’s most recognised rappers to the city for a high-energy live performance.

Known for his unmistakable style, hard-hitting tracks and commanding stage presence, Laure has built a huge following across Nepal and beyond. His upcoming Gangtok appearance gives local fans a chance to catch him live as the city gears up for a packed Friday night.

Gangtok is set to run a little differently this weekend as Aro Social brings the city its first Run Rave, combining a 5K community run with music, movement and a full-on rave experience. 🔥

Happening on 20 September 2026, the Run Rave will begin and finish at MG Marg Tourism and take runners through a mapped 5K route covering parts of Gangtok including Zero Point, TNA, Ridge Park, etc before looping back towards MG Marg.

The ₹800 registration includes the official Run Rave T-shirt, runner’s bib, participation badge, a free drink, e-certificate and access to the rave experience.

The event is limited to just 200 participants, with the organisers positioning it as less of a competitive race and more of a community experience built around movement, music and culture.

Aro Social is organising the event in collaboration with DJ Kay as the official event DJ and Denzong Clean Co. as sustainability partner, while Sikkim Hype comes on board as the official media partner.

With the simple mantra “Run. Rave. Repeat.”, the event looks set to bring a fresh spin to Gangtok’s growing youth and community event scene.
