ATREE is pleased to share an illustrated comic on Human-Elephant Coexistence, highlighting the important role of the Rapid Response Teams (RRTs), trained community volunteers who respond to elephant movement using safe, coordinated, and non-violent approaches that protect both people and wildlife.

Set in the Naxalbari landscape, the comic illustrates how timely reporting, community participation, and collaboration with the Forest Department can help reduce conflict and strengthen coexistence. It also introduces practical measures that support a future where people and elephants can thrive together.

Developed as part of ATREE's human-elephant coexistence initiative in collaboration with the Kurseong Forest Division and the Naxalbari Block Office, with support from ICIMOD, the comic is a resource for communities, students, and anyone interested in conservation.

Read, share, and help spread the message that coexistence is a shared responsibility.

Comic developed by: Leesh Ray, Sanjeeb Pradhan, Amit Routh, and Jiten Das.
