On this significant day, we honour the remarkable journey of the Tibetan democratic movement and the vision of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, whose farsighted leadership laid the foundation for a democratic Tibetan society.

Let us continue to cherish our democratic values, stand united, and carry forward the aspirations and sacrifices of generations of Tibetans.

49th Day Prayer and Butter Lamp Offering Ceremony for Pawo Lobga Rangzen

On 20th August 2026, the RTYC Gangtok Executive attended the 49th Day Prayer and Butter Lamp Offering Ceremony held in memory of Martyr Pawo Lobga Rangzen at Guru Lhakhang, Gangtok.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Tibetan community, representatives of various Tibetan organizations, and supporters who gathered to offer prayers, light butter lamps, and pay tribute to the sacrifice of Pawo Lobga Rangzen.

The gathering also served as a solemn reminder of the continued struggle for justice and freedom for Tibet, while honouring the courage and sacrifice of those who have given their lives for the Tibetan cause.

In front of the Chinese Consulate, Kolkata, we raised our voices for Justice, Freedom and Truth for Tibet.

The words “FREE TIBET”, written with the hair of our fellow Tibetans, carry a powerful message of sacrifice, courage and unwavering commitment to the cause of Tibet. Every strand represents those who have sacrificed and continue to stand strong for the freedom of our homeland.

This act is also a tribute to all the Tibetan martyrs who gave their lives for Tibet, and especially to recent martyr Pawo Lobga Rangzen, whose ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We stand united.
We stand strong.
We will continue to speak for Tibet.
