1- On ST Certificate Issue:
The Yobin (Lisu) tribe asserts that their Scheduled Tribe recognition is constitutional and backed by the Presidential Order under Article 342(1) of the Constitution of India. They clarify that Yobin is an inclusive tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, and no separate ST amendment is required for validation.
2-On Allegation of Government Favouritism:
The tribe rejects claims of โundue favoritism,โ stating that the government has merely corrected a long-standing injustice after decades of neglect. They insist their inclusion is lawful and constitutional.
3-On Constitutional Modalities:
Yobin leaders emphasize that all due legal procedures were followed, referencing the statement of Rajeev Prakash, Director (C&LM Division), who affirmed that โincluding or excluding these tribes (the listed 16 tribes), Yobin is ST โ no explanation is needed.โ
4-On Political Motive Claim:
The Yobin community dismisses the charge of political manipulation, stressing that this issue is about restoring their identity and rights, not politics.
5- On Demands for Removal and Restrictions:
The community condemns the Forumโs calls to remove Yobin artefacts from the State Museum and bar them from events, calling it an attack on their cultural heritage and constitutional equality.
6- On Call for Public Apology and Final Appeal:
The Yobin Tribeโs Fundamental Rights Forum (YTFRF) demands that Tai Saktar, Ganko Misso, and others from the APST Protection Forum tender a public apology for their false accusations against the tribe and government authorities.
The Yobin statement adds:
โArunachal is not complete without the Yobin Tribe of the Vijoynagar Circle.โ
โNo other indigenous tribe exists in the circle except the Yobin.โ
โStop falsely accusing the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh and challenging Presidential ST Orders.โ
โDirect your zeal towards nation-building and development instead.โ
