Jammu, 10th August, 2026: Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp was successfully organized by J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides SHQs Gandhi Nagar Jammu at Kud, Patnitop, from 6th to 9th August 2026. The camp witnessed the active participation of 106 Scouts/Guides from the districts of Jammu, Doda, Udhampur and Samba.
The camp was organized with the objective of assessing the participants on various aspects of the Rajya Puraskar requirements and providing them an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, discipline, and practical abilities.

The camp was held under the able supervision of Mtr. Nasreen Khan, State Secretary-cum-Administrative Officer.
The testing and activities were conducted by Smt. Manjeet Kour, JSTC, Shri K. L. Sharma, ALT, along with Shri. Haroon Malik ALT and other invited staff members. The trainers and staff members provided necessary guidance and support to the participants throughout the camp.
During the four-day camp, various tests and activities were conducted to evaluate the participants' knowledge and practical skills. The major components of the assessment included Written Test – To assess the theoretical knowledge and understanding of the prescribed syllabus.
Oral Test – To evaluate the participants' communication skills, knowledge, confidence, and understanding of important Scouting/Guiding concepts.
Practical Test – To assess the participants' ability to demonstrate the required practical skills.
Skill-Based Activities – Various activities were conducted by the trainers as part of the overall assessment and learning process.
The participants were also observed for discipline, teamwork, cooperation, punctuality, and active participation during the camp.
All 106 participants took an active part in the testing and activities organized during the camp. The participants displayed enthusiasm, discipline, and a positive attitude throughout the programme.
The camp provided an appropriate platform for the participants to demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired during their Scouting/Guiding training. The guidance provided by the trainers and staff helped the participants perform the various tests and activities with confidence.

The Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp proved to be a useful and enriching experience for the participants. It enabled the trainers and testing staff to assess the participants' preparedness and competency in different areas of the Rajya Puraskar requirements.
The camp also promoted qualities such as discipline, leadership, teamwork, self-reliance, responsibility, and confidence among the participants.

Reasi, 3rd August, 2026: Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit of Devs Kids World High School, Kundrorian Katra, in collaboration with the Forest Department Katra, organised a Plantation Drive and Plant Distribution Programme at the area behind the Fire Station, Katra, with the objective of promoting environmental conservation and creating awareness among students about the importance of tree plantation.

The programme was led by Scout Master-cum-District Secretary, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, District Reasi, Sheikh Anyat Ullaha, who motivated the Scouts and Guides to plant one tree in the name of their parents (Maa-Baap). He emphasized that planting and nurturing trees is not only a responsibility towards nature but also a meaningful way to express gratitude and respect for one's parents.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rohit Sharma, I/C Forest Department Katra Town, highlighted the importance of environmental protection and encouraged students to actively participate in plantation activities. He distributed saplings among the students and appealed to each one of them to plant and care for a tree in the name of their parents.

The Principal of the school, Smt. Anupam Sharma, appreciated the initiative and extended her best wishes to all the participating students for their dedication towards environmental protection.

The Director of the school, Smt. Sharda Devi, congratulated the Scouts and Guides and inspired them to continue serving society with sincerity and to remain committed to social and environmental welfare.

Kathua, 4th August, 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides District Headquarters Kathua organised a two day Pravesh Camp from 03 August 2026 to 04 August 2026 at CMP Convent Higher Secondary School, Dayalachak. 130 Scouts and Guides participated in the camp.
The camp was organised by District Organising Commissioner Shri. Yashpal. The training included the Scout and Guide Sign, Salute, Motto, Left Hand Shake,Flag Song,Prayer,Law and Promise. The camp was conducted under the supervision of District Secretary Smt. Laxmi Sahotra. The programme helped participants strengthen their basic Scouting knowledge and skills.

Jammu, 1st August, 2026: Bharat Scouts and Guides unit of Crescent Public School celebrated World Scarf Day on 1st August 2026 with great zeal and enthusiasm under the able guidance of Principal Mrs. Manju Vali and Guide Captain Mrs. Rita Sharma.

The celebration began with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of World Scarf Day, which commemorates the first Scout camp held on Brownsea Island in 1907. Students and staff proudly wore the Scout/Guide scarf as a symbol of unity, service, discipline, and commitment to the ideals of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Guide Captain Mrs. Rita Sharma addressed the students and encouraged them to uphold the Scout and Guide Promise and Law in their daily lives. She emphasized the importance of selfless service, leadership, teamwork, and responsibility towards society. The students enthusiastically participated in the programme and reaffirmed their commitment to the values of scouting and guiding.

Principal Mrs. Manju Vali appreciated the efforts of the Guides and motivated the students to actively participate in Scout and Guide activities that help build character, confidence, and a spirit of community service.

The celebration concluded on a patriotic and inspiring note, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of dedication to the principles of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and the true spirit of World Scarf Day.

Udhampur, 1st August, 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides Udhampur celebrated World Scout Scarf Day at Amar Deep High School Udhampur under the guidance of Principal Smt Shakti Dubey. A total of 48 Scouts and Guides participated in the programme, which was conducted by Guide Captains Divyangna Dubey and Anuradha Sharma.

The programme highlighted the importance of the Scout Scarf as a symbol of friendship, unity, commitment, and belonging to the worldwide Scout Movement. The Each One Bring One membership initiative was promoted, encouraging Unit Leader, Scout, Guide, Alumni, and Well Wisher to enrol one new member into The Bharat Scouts and Guides and inspire young people to follow the Scout Promise and Law.

A Scout Promise Renewal Ceremony was organised with the Flag Ceremony, Scout Guide Prayer, and Promise Oath Taking Ceremony. The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to the ideals and values of Scouting and Guiding and a pledge to strengthen the Scout Movement through active membership and dedicated service.

The programme was organised by District Organising Commissioner Shri Yash Pal under the supervision of District Secretary Smt. Laxmi Sahotra. The event highlighted the importance of the Scout Scarf as a symbol of unity, commitment, and service. Scouts, Guides, and volunteers participated enthusiastically and renewed their promise to uphold the values of the Scout and Guide Movement.

District Samba, also organised Scarf Day on 01 August, 2026 at Shree Mahavir International School, Randhwal.

A delegation of the Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides (J&K BS&G), led by its Senior Vice President, Prof. (Dr.) Fayaz Ahmad Nikka, called on the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, who is also the Chief Patron of the Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts & Guides, at Lok Bhavan Srinagar on 24th July, 2026.
During the interaction, the delegation projected several important issues concerning the growth and strengthening of the Scouting and Guiding movement in the Union Territory. The delegation requested the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor for the establishment of a dedicated State Training Centre to enhance training infrastructure and facilitate capacity building of Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers and Adult Leaders across Jammu & Kashmir.
The delegation also sought enhancement of the Grant-in-Aid provided to the organisation in view of its expanding activities in youth development, community service, disaster preparedness, environmental conservation and character building. It further urged the inclusion of Bharat Scouts and Guides under the Sports Category so that Scouts and Guides may avail benefits and incentives at par with other youth activities.
Among the other issues projected was the creation of a Scouts & Guides Fund on the pattern of the Red Cross Fund to ensure sustained financial support for programmes aimed at developing responsible, disciplined and service-oriented youth.
The other members included Ms. Gulshan Ara State Commissioner AR(G) cm Jt. Administrative Officer, Mr. S.M Shafi (Jt. State Secretary), Mr. Masrat Hussain Andrabi (State Organising Commisioner) Mtr. Firdousa Ahad State Training Commissioner(G), Mr. Sameer Ahmad Bhat (Account Officer SHQ Srinagar), Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar (I/C Establishment).

The Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor Shri. Manoj Sinha ji appreciated the significant role played by the Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts & Guides in shaping the character of young people and acknowledged the organisation's commendable contribution towards strengthening the youth of the Union Territory through discipline, leadership, community service and commitment to the nation. He lauded the organisation for its continued efforts in nurturing responsible citizens and promoting the spirit of volunteerism and national service.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor for his continued patronage and support to the Scouting and Guiding movement and expressed confidence that the issues projected would receive positive consideration for the larger interest of youth development in the Union Territory.

Srinagar, The Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha addressed an event organized by the Department of Social Welfare, commemorating the successful completion of 100 days of the 'Drug-Free J&K campaign'. Speaking on the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor said while this milestone marks significant progress, our mission is far from complete.
During his address he appericated the role of Scouts and Guides J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides for their support in the 100 days.
