Aashiana-The Shelter Trust is a Public Charitable Trust established on 8th November 2010. It is registered under the Indian Trust Act 1882, Registration Number: 241/2011-2012. Its objectives are:
(a) To establish, develop, maintain and grant aid in cash or in kind to widows, orphan children and other vulnerable children of infected and affected families suffering from HIV and AIDS, and others who
are in life threatening situations (Illiteracy, Poverty, Floods, Earthquakes, Famines and such) in India. (b) To establish, develop, maintain and grant aid in cash or kind to welfare centres and/or such other similar charitable institutions engaged in HIV and AIDS, poverty elevation, disaster management, and other life threatening situations, in India for the benefit and use of the general public irrespective of cast, creed, religion etc. (c) To organize and take-up Health, Education, Training, Microfinance, Publishing, Audio and Video, and Welfare programmes for the widows, orphan children and other vulnerable children of infected and affected families suffering from HIV and AIDS and people living in poverty and disastrous situations. (d) To establish centres for employment generation
(e) To establish, run, support and grant aid or other financial assistance to institutions, charitable societies and trusts and other establishments and organizations of the like nature in India, for information, education, communication to the general public about HIV and AIDS, poverty, disaster management, Health, Food and Nutrition and for the development and advancement of the above mentioned through education and diffusion of knowledge amongst the public in general. (f) To establish, maintain and run agencies of non-commercial character including non-profit, non-governmental organizations (NGO), community based organizations (CBO’s), support organizations for NGO’s and CBO’s, development organizations, development support agencies, working for HIV and AIDS patients and their families without any distinction as to caste, colour, race, creed or s*x. (g) To establish, maintain or grant aid to homes for the aged, orphanages or other establishments for the relief and help to the poor, needy and destitute people, orphans, widows and aged persons. (h) To establish and develop institutions for the handicapped and disabled, both mentally and physically, and to provide them sustainable livelihood, education, food, clothing or other help. (i) To grant relief and assistance to the needy victims during natural calamities such as famine, earth quake, flood, fire, pestilence, etc. and to give donations and other assistance to institutions, establishments or persons engaged in such relief work. (j) To do such other things, activities, programs, projects which may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of the aims and objectives of the Trust and to meet the physical, emotional, social, moral, spiritual, educational, economical needs of people irrespective of caste, creed, colour, s*x, religion, nationality etc throughout India.
