SPIC MACAY NIT Durgapur Chapter SPIC MACAY is a voluntary youth movement which promotes intangible aspects of Indian cultural heritage.

SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) is a non-political, nationwide, voluntary movement founded in 1977 by Dr Kiran Seth, Professor-Emeritus at IIT-Delhi who was awarded the ‘Padma Shri’ for his contribution to the arts in 2009. SPICMACAY’s intention is to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of

Indian heritage and inspiring the young mind to imbibe the values embedded in it. It seeks to inspire youth through experiencing the mysticism embodied in the rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry of Indian and World Heritage, with a hope that the beauty, grace, values and wisdom embodied in these arts will influence their way of life and thinking and inspire one to become a better human being. For this, the most accomplished artistes of the country render programmes of Indian classical music and dance, folk, poetry, theatre, traditional paintings, crafts & yog primarily in schools and colleges.

Some days are made of colours… and Anubhav was one of them.
And truly, there couldn’t have been a better day to host Anubhav than Children’s Day itself.

On 14th November 2025, the Shopping Complex, NIT Durgapur came alive as S**C MACAY NIT Durgapur, in collaboration with BMEP, organised an Art & Craft Workshop for underprivileged children. The event became a bright, joyful space where every child felt free to explore their imagination and express themselves through colours and creativity.

With the help of our warm and dedicated volunteers, the workshop turned into a celebration of dreams, innocence, and limitless potential. From tiny sketches to colourful crafts, each artwork carried a spark of joy.

Anubhav was more than an event—it was a Children’s Day reminder of how a small opportunity can fill young hearts with hope, confidence, and inspiration. A day of smiles, colours, and pure magic.
