Papum Pare District has achieved a significant milestone in strengthening the quality and delivery of public healthcare services, with Primary Health Centre (PHC) Tarasso and Health & Wellness Centre (HWC) Gumto receiving certification under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS).
PHC Tarasso has created history by becoming the first Primary Health Centre in Arunachal Pradesh to receive NQAS certification, marking a major step forward in the Stateโs journey towards introducing and maintaining national quality standards at the PHC level. The achievement is expected to encourage other Primary Health Centres across Arunachal Pradesh to pursue NQAS certification and strengthen the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centred and high-quality healthcare services.
Adding to the districtโs achievement, HWC Gumto secured an impressive score of 98.88 per cent and was awarded the prestigious Platinum Grade under NQAS. The exceptional performance reflects the facilityโs high level of compliance with national quality standards and the commitment, dedication and teamwork of its healthcare personnel.
With the latest certifications, rural Papum Pare now has three NQAS-certified health facilities. HWC Sopo had earlier received NQAS certification in 2024, providing a strong foundation for the districtโs continuing efforts towards quality improvement and excellence in public healthcare.
In another major recognition, Community Health Centre (CHC) Sagalee has been adjudged the Best Community Health Centre in Arunachal Pradesh under the Kayakalp Scheme for the financial year 2025โ26. The award recognises the facilityโs exemplary performance in cleanliness, hygiene, infection-control practices, biomedical waste management and overall maintenance of the healthcare environment.
These achievements reflect the collective efforts of the District Health Society, Papum Pare; Medical Officers-in-Charge; Health & Wellness Officers; healthcare workers; frontline workers; programme officials and other stakeholders who have worked consistently towards improving the quality of healthcare services.
The recognition of PHC Tarasso, HWC Gumto, HWC Sopo and CHC Sagalee is expected to further motivate healthcare institutions across Papum Pare and Arunachal Pradesh to adopt national quality standards and work towards certification, ultimately ensuring more accessible, equitable, safe and quality healthcare services for the people.
The District Health Society, Papum Pare, has congratulated the teams of PHC Tarasso, HWC Gumto, HWC Sopo and CHC Sagalee, along with all officials and stakeholders, for their dedication and teamwork in achieving these significant milestones.
