Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala Arunachal Branch, Diyun

(Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Medical Centre)

Dated: 28th March, 2026.

A one-day free medical camp was successfully organised at Mudukunala Village under Diyun Circle.

A total of 201 patients were examined, treated, and provided with medicines free of cost. Most patients were provisionally diagnosed with conditions such as polyarthritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), respiratory tract infections, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, post-menopausal syndrome, urinary tract infections, anaemia, and related health issues.

We are committed to organising such medical camps every month in different remote villages to serve the community.

We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to the medical team of Mahabodhi Medical Centre, Diyun, led by Dr. Lauva Chakma, for their dedicated service.

Our deep gratitude goes to Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghadatta Thera for his blessings, and to Ven. Bhikkhu Tiloka for his guidance and coordination in successfully conducting the camp.

On 3rd March 2026, the Arunachal Branch of Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala celebrated the sacred Dhammapada Utsav with deep devotion, unity, and spiritual joy, commemorating the birth anniversary of Ven. Dr. Acharya Buddharakhita, Founder of Mahabodhi organisation.

The day was filled with meaningful and meritorious activities. Members, staff, and students came together to release fish into the serene waters of the Dihing River, symbolizing compassion and the gift of life. A plantation drive was organized to nurture nature and promote harmony with the environment. The celebration also included Puja, meditation, and a profound discourse on the inspiring life of Bada Bhanteji, delivered by Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghadatta Thera.

Adding to the spirit of generosity and gratitude, the staff and children respectfully offered breakfast and daily requisites to the monks, expressing their devotion and reverence.

The entire event reflected the true essence of the Dhammapada — cultivating wisdom, compassion, and selfless service.

May the blessings of this auspicious day bring peace, happiness, and harmony to all beings.

Dr. Anshuman Behera, Professor, National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) under IISc Bangalore, a distinguished academic and researcher in India; Mr. Jenish Trivedi, Ph.D. Scholar, NIAS under IISc Bangalore; and Mr. Mohsin Alqab, Senior Public Affairs Officer, Oil India Limited, kindly visited Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala, Diyun.

They were warmly welcomed by Ven. Bhikkhu Tiloka, Assistant Director, Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala Arunachal Branch, Diyun, along with Mr. Sonam Dorjee Dhanava, General Manager, and Mr. Basanta Kumar Chakma, Principal of Mahabodhi School, Diyun.

During the brief meeting, discussions were held on the development of the school and possible future collaboration with Oil India Limited.

Mr. Sonam Dhanava, General Manager, MMMABD, and Mr. Basanta Kr. Chakma, Principal, Mahabodhi School, Diyun, met Shri Shekhar Chandra, Assistant Secretary, CBSE, regarding the commencement of the Science stream at Mahabodhi School, Diyun.

During the meeting, the matter was discussed in detail. Shri Shekhar Chandra provided guidance and assurance, and the interaction concluded on a positive and encouraging note. All necessary works, documentation, and procedural formalities related to the starting of Science stream at Mahabodhi School Diyun will be completed within the next 15 days.

We sincerely hope that these efforts will benefit a large number of underprivileged students in the region by creating better academic opportunities and access to Science education.

Mahabodhi Higher Secondary School, Jyotipur, Diyun, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on 26 January 2026.

The programme began with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag by the Chief Guest, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghadatta Thera, Director of Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala, Diyun, Arunachal Branch, followed by an impressive march past by the students of Mahabodhi School. The celebration featured inspiring speeches by the Chief Guest, teachers, and students, emphasizing the values of the Indian Constitution, unity, and national pride. The occasion also witnessed the prize distribution ceremony for the Inter-House Sports and Cultural Week, where students were honoured for their outstanding achievements.

A special highlight of the programme was the Megha Dance performed by the students, which beautifully portrayed the unity, harmony, and togetherness of the diverse tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.

Later in the day, students of Mahabodhi School proudly participated in the Republic Day celebration at Diyun General Ground, alongside many other schools from the Diyun circle. The event was graced by Shri Nikh Kamin, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Bordumsa–Diyun Constituency, as the Chief Guest.

During the programme, Shri Nikh Kamin and many people were pleasantly surprised and deeply appreciative of the handmade crochet items created by the students of Mahabodhi School. The students had set up a stall to display and sell their creatively crafted products, reflecting their talent, craftsmanship, and spirit of self-reliance. Several schools showcased their students’ talents through similar stalls, and Mahabodhi Higher Secondary School was awarded the First Prize for “Most Talented and Creative Stall” in the Diyun Circle, presented by Shri Nikh Kamin.

The celebration was a memorable and inspiring occasion, reflecting patriotism, cultural harmony, and the holistic development of students.
