Mahabodhi Higher Secondary School, Jyotipur, Diyun, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on 26 January 2026.
The programme began with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag by the Chief Guest, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghadatta Thera, Director of Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala, Diyun, Arunachal Branch, followed by an impressive march past by the students of Mahabodhi School. The celebration featured inspiring speeches by the Chief Guest, teachers, and students, emphasizing the values of the Indian Constitution, unity, and national pride. The occasion also witnessed the prize distribution ceremony for the Inter-House Sports and Cultural Week, where students were honoured for their outstanding achievements.
A special highlight of the programme was the Megha Dance performed by the students, which beautifully portrayed the unity, harmony, and togetherness of the diverse tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.
Later in the day, students of Mahabodhi School proudly participated in the Republic Day celebration at Diyun General Ground, alongside many other schools from the Diyun circle. The event was graced by Shri Nikh Kamin, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Bordumsa–Diyun Constituency, as the Chief Guest.
During the programme, Shri Nikh Kamin and many people were pleasantly surprised and deeply appreciative of the handmade crochet items created by the students of Mahabodhi School. The students had set up a stall to display and sell their creatively crafted products, reflecting their talent, craftsmanship, and spirit of self-reliance. Several schools showcased their students’ talents through similar stalls, and Mahabodhi Higher Secondary School was awarded the First Prize for “Most Talented and Creative Stall” in the Diyun Circle, presented by Shri Nikh Kamin.
The celebration was a memorable and inspiring occasion, reflecting patriotism, cultural harmony, and the holistic development of students.
