The Karbi Students' Association (KSA) was formed on 21st July, 1959

As per the direction of Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, Hon’ble CEM, KAAC. Sir Richard Tokbi, Hon’ble EM, KAAC, I/c Education, called KSA General Secretary Barnabas Kiling, along with representatives of the AUDC Students’ Union, for a crucial discussion regarding today’s protest by the students at Assam University, Diphu Campus.

During the meeting, the Hon’ble EM assured the students that positive results would be delivered within one week and that their concerns would be addressed at the earliest.

Today, the KSA Central Executive Committee (CEC), led by President Shri Budho Terang and General Secretary Shri Barnabas Kiling, along with Assistant General Secretaries Shri Probinson Engleng and Shri Raju Engti and other office bearers, visited Dr. Tuliram Ronghang and his family to convey our heartfelt condolences on the passing of his beloved father.

The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA), Karbi Cultural Society (KCS), Karbi Lammet Amei (KLA), along with several other organisations, today submitted a memorandum to the District Commissioner, Karbi Anglong, seeking strict verification during the ongoing Census of India 2027.

The memorandum expressed concern over the increasing influx and settlement of persons from outside Karbi Anglong, particularly in the Langtibuk area, Diphu Rongnihang area, and other locations, and urged the administration to ensure that only eligible residents are included in the Census after proper verification in accordance with the law.

A delegation from Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA) visited the Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) Central Executive Committee Head Office, Diphu, and held a cordial discussion with KSA leaders. The meeting focused on education, youth empowerment, skill development, and rural community development in Karbi Anglong.

Both organisations exchanged views on possible areas of collaboration for the welfare of students and rural communities and expressed their commitment to maintaining constructive cooperation in the future.

A joint delegation comprising the Karbi Students’ Association (KSA), Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU), Zeme Students’ Union, Thadao Students’ Association, Hrangkhol Students’ Association, and Khelma Students’ Union today submitted a memorandum to Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The memorandum raises concerns over specific clauses in the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) signed between the Government of Assam and the Kuki militant groups, as well as the Government of Assam and the Hmar People’s Convention (Democratic).

The organizations urged the Government to review the contentious provisions, withdraw the disputed clause of the Hmar MoS, ensure consultation with all stakeholders, protect the constitutional rights of the indigenous communities of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao, preserve the ecological significance of the Singhason–Khanbamon Hill Range, and safeguard the territorial, customary, and cultural rights of the Sixth Schedule areas.

The memorandum was jointly submitted on 10 July 2026.

Had a fruitful discussion between the KAAC Officials and Karbi Students' Association (KSA) at Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Secretariat today regarding Karbi Anglong Bio-Fuel Refinery Limited which is a Joint Venture Project between the KAAC and Goal Bio Oil private limited at Borlangpher, Karbi Anglong.

KSA strongly opposed the Establishment of Bio-Fuel Refinery Limited at Borlangpher.

Today, the Karbi Students' Association (KSA) Central Executive Committee paid its heartfelt tribute to our beloved former KSA President, Lt. Harsing Engti, as his mortal remains made a final stop at the KSA Central Executive Office before his last funeral rites.
With heavy hearts, we offered our final respects to a leader whose dedication, vision, and selfless service to the Karbi community and the student movement will always be remembered.
Your legacy will continue to inspire generations.
May the noble soul of Lt. Rev Harsing Engti rest in eternal peace.

A memorandum was jointly submitted to the Chairperson of the Assam State Commission for Women through a senior officer at its office in Guwahati today.

The memorandum was submitted by the Karbi Students Association (KSA), led by its General Secretary Barnabas Kiling along with his team and the Karbi Anglong Women Justice Forum (KAWJF). Representatives of KAWJF, including the President Beaulet Beypi , General Secretary Presilla Terangpi and members, were also present.

The joint memorandum pertains to the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl at Daithor involving Dr. Dipok Bora Principal of Deithor Government Model College . The organizations urged the Commission to take immediate cognizance of the matter and ensure a fair, impartial, and time-bound investigation, along with strict legal action against the accused as per the law.

Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) & Karbi Anglong Women Justice Forum (KAWJF) Submit Memorandum to KAAC Education EM Demanding Immediate Action in Deithor College Sexual Abuse Case
Diphu, Karbi Anglong | May 08, 2026
The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) along with the Karbi Anglong Women Justice Forum (KAWJF) today submitted a memorandum to Shri Richard Tokbi, Executive Member (EM) i/c Education, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), demanding swift and decisive action in the alleged sexual abuse case involving the Principal of Government Model College, Deithor.
A delegation led by Budho Terang, President, KSA, Barnabas Kiling, General Secretary, KSA, KSA Advisor Bernard Rongphar ,members of KAWJF including its President and General Secretary, met the Education EM and submitted the memorandum regarding the serious allegations of repeated sexual abuse of a female Higher Secondary student by the college Principal.
In the memorandum, the student and women’s organisations strongly urged the concerned authorities to:
• Ensure a fair, impartial, and time-bound investigation into the matter.
• Immediately refer the case to the appropriate authorities for a proper and neutral probe.
• Suspend the accused Principal with immediate effect by the appointing authority.
• Take necessary steps to ensure the safety and academic well-being of students during the period of investigation.
• Maintain strict confidentiality to protect the dignity and prestige of the victim.
• Restore confidence among the students in the institution.
• Remove the accused from service if found guilty after due process.

A Felicitation cm Career Counselling Programme for HSLC & HS Examination 2026 was successfully held at Langmepi L.P. School, West Karbi Anglong Today, organised by the Langmepi Head Branch and Langthat Sub-Branch under the Karbi Students’ Association (KSA), Hamren Regional Committee.

The programme was graced by Chief Guest Budho Terang President KSA-CEC , along with General Secretary Barnabas Kiling, AGS Probinson Engleng, Babul Tokbi I/c HRC,Sorosing Bey Asst Finance Secy ,Social Service Secretary Raju Tisso, Publicity Secretary Devinson Kro, Assistant External Affairs Secretary Jemsing Rongpi, and the President & General Secretary of KSA Hamren Regional Committee (HRC) along with HRC office bearers.

Successful students were felicitated and guided through a career counselling session, encouraging them to choose the right path for their future.
