Karbi Film Society to Celebrate 17th Foundation Day at Kathilangso on 15 June

Karbi Film Society Performs Dance Showcase at Dillai

The Karbi Film Society captivated audiences in Dillai with a vibrant dance performance, drawing enthusiastic participation from local residents and film enthusiasts alike. The event, organized as part of the society's ongoing efforts to promote Karbi language, art, and cinema, showcased a series of dances, songs, that highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Karbi people.

A delegation from the Karbi Film Society (KFS) visited the residence of renowned writer, singer, and lyricist Shri Jorsing Bey to extend their support and encouragement as he battles a prolonged illness.

GVR Group to Set Up ₹2,000 Crore Film City in Guwahati

In a major boost to Assam’s entertainment and tourism sector, Hyderabad-based GVR Group has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art Film City in Guwahati with an investment of ₹2,000 crore. This ambitious project aims to position Assam as a key hub for film production, not just in the Northeast but across India.

The proposed Film City will feature world-class infrastructure, including advanced film studios, post-production facilities, animation and VFX centers, outdoor shooting locations, and dedicated training academies for aspiring filmmakers. Additionally, it is expected to create thousands of job opportunities and attract major film productions to the region.

The announcement was made during the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit, where GVR Group expressed confidence in Assam’s potential as a cinematic destination.
