🌊 தாமிரபரணியின் அரிய மீன்களுக்கு அச்சுறுத்தல்!
தமிழ்நாட்டில் தோன்றி, மாநிலத்திற்குள்ளேயே கடலில் கலக்கும் ஒரே நதி தாமிரபரணி. இந்த ஆற்றின் மேல்பகுதி, நடுப்பகுதி மற்றும் கழிமுகப் பகுதிகளில் 125 வகை மீன் இனங்கள் அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளன. இவற்றில் 7 இனங்கள் தாமிரபரணியில் மட்டுமே காணப்படும் அரிய உள்ளூர் (Endemic) இனங்கள்.
ஆனால் நீர் மாசுபாடு, வாழ்விட அழிவு, கரையோரத் தாவரங்கள் இழப்பு, அயல்நாட்டு மீன்கள் மற்றும் நீர்த்தாவரங்களின் ஆக்கிரமிப்பு ஆகியவற்றால் இவற்றின் எண்ணிக்கை குறைந்து வருகிறது.
🔹 5 இனங்கள் தொடர்ந்து நிலைத்து வாழ்கின்றன.
🔹 வனப்பகுதிக்கு வெளியே வாழும் 2 இனங்கள் அச்சுறுத்தலை எதிர்கொள்கின்றன.
🔹 "தாமிரபரணி செவ்வள் கெண்டை" (Dawkinsia tambraparniei) ஏற்கனவே அழிந்துவரும் இனமாக வகைப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
🔹 "ஆயிரிமீன்" போன்ற இனங்கள் ஆக்சிஜன் நிறைந்த, தூய்மையான நீரில் மட்டுமே வாழ முடியும்.
இந்த மீன்கள் மறைந்தால், அது ஆற்றின் உயிரியல் மரணத்தின் அறிகுறி என்று ஆய்வாளர்கள் எச்சரிக்கின்றனர்.

நெஞ்செரிச்சல் என்பது வெறும் அமிலத்தன்மை அல்ல: GERD பற்றிய முழு உண்மை!

பலர் நெஞ்செரிச்சலை (Heartburn) சாதாரண அமிலத்தன்மை என்று நினைத்து அலட்சியப்படுத்துகிறார்கள். ஆனால், அது Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) என்று அழைக்கப்படும் ஒரு நோயாக இருக்கலாம். 2021 ஆம் ஆண்டு நடத்தப்பட்ட ஒரு ஆய்வின்படி, இந்தியாவில் சுமார் 15.6% பேர் இந்த பாதிப்பால் அவதிப்படுகின்றனர்.

அப்பல்லோ மருத்துவமனையின் மருத்துவ இரைப்பைக் குழாய் நிபுணர் டாக்டர் விஷ்ணு அபிஷேக் ராஜு கூறுகையில், "GERD என்பது அதிக அமிலம் உற்பத்தியாவதால் மட்டும் ஏற்படும் பிரச்சனை அல்ல. இரைப்பை மற்றும் உணவுக்குழாய் இடையேயான வால்வு (Sphincter) சரியாக வேலை செய்யாதபோது, இரைப்பை உள்ளடக்கம் மீண்டும் உணவுக்குழாய்க்குள் வருகிறது," என்று விளக்குகிறார்.

முக்கிய அம்சங்கள்:
🔹 நெஞ்செரிச்சல் என்பது ஒரு அறிகுறி; நோய் கண்டறிதல் அல்ல.
🔹 ஒருவருக்கு இருக்கும் அறிகுறிகளின் தீவிரத்தை வைத்து, உணவுக்குழாயில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள பாதிப்பின் அளவை தீர்மானிக்க முடியாது.
🔹 சிலருக்கு அறிகுறிகள் இல்லாமல் கூட உணவுக்குழாயில் அழற்சி (Oesophagitis) இருக்கலாம்.

எச்சரிக்கை அறிகுறிகள் (Alarm Symptoms):
விழுங்கும்போது வலி அல்லது சிரமம், இரத்தக்கசிவு, காரணமில்லாத எடை இழப்பு, தொடர் வாந்தி அல்லது இரத்த சோகை இருந்தால், உடனடியாக எண்டோஸ்கோபி (Endoscopy) பரிசோதனை செய்ய வேண்டும்.

நிவாரண வழிகள்:
முதலில் உடல் எடையை குறைக்கவும். படுக்கைக்கு செல்வதற்கு 3 மணி நேரத்திற்கு முன்பாக உணவு உண்பதை நிறுத்தவும். மேலும், அனைத்து உணவுகளையும் தவிர்க்காமல், உங்களுக்கு பிரச்சனை கொடுக்கும் குறிப்பிட்ட உணவுகளை மட்டும் கண்டறிந்து தவிர்க்கவும்.

உங்கள் உடல்நலன் குறித்து கவலை இருந்தால், மருத்துவரை அணுகி சரியான ஆலோசனை பெறுங்கள்.

​Dedicated Physiotherapy: Focused sessions, guided by caring specialists, help children improve mobility, posture, and coordination using supportive equipment. These interventions are crucial for their physical well-being.

🚑 Taking Healthcare to Where It's Needed Most
Deep in the lower hill regions of Kodaikanal, many tribal families live far from the nearest hospital. Roads are rough, distances are long, and a doctor's visit can mean losing a day's wages.
The Tribal Mobile Medical Unit of Lantern Charitable Trust (LCT) brings care to their doorstep. Our doctor and health team travel to tribal hamlets and Anganwadi centres to:
✅ Examine children, women and elders
✅ Check for common illnesses and monitor child health
✅ Provide basic medicines and health guidance
✅ Reach families who would otherwise go without care
Every visit is a step toward health equity, because good health is a right for everyone, not a privilege of geography.

​செயற்கை நுண்ணறிவு (AI) உலகையே மாற்றப்போகிறது என்றாலும், அது குறித்த மக்களின் அணுகுமுறை எல்லா நாடுகளிலும் ஒன்றாக இருப்பதில்லை என்பதை சுட்டிக்காட்டுகிறது சமீபத்திய Pew Research Centre ஆய்வு.
​முக்கியப் புள்ளிகள்:

இதய பிரச்சனைகளால் ஏற்படும் மரணங்களைத் தடுக்க, ஹரியானா அரசு மற்றும் 'சன்ஃபாக்ஸ் டெக்னாலஜிஸ்' (Sunfox Technologies) இணைந்து செயல்படுத்திய 'ஸ்பந்தன்' (Spandan) திட்டம் சிறப்பான பலன்களைத் தந்துள்ளது.

கிராமப்புற மக்கள் இதய பிரச்சனைகளுக்கு உடனடி சிகிச்சை பெற முடியாமல், மாவட்ட மருத்துவமனைகளுக்குச் செல்லும் வழியில் உயிரிழக்கும் நிலை மாறியுள்ளது. தற்போது, ஆரம்ப சுகாதார நிலையங்களிலேயே (PHC) டெலி-ECG இயந்திரங்கள் மூலம் 3 நிமிடங்களில் ECG எடுக்கப்பட்டு, மருத்துவர்களால் ஆய்வு செய்யப்படுகிறது.

இதன் மூலம் கிடைத்துள்ள நன்மைகள்:

· மாவட்ட மருத்துவமனைகளின் அவசர சிகிச்சை பிரிவுகளில் இறப்பு விகிதம் 20% குறைந்துள்ளது.
· செப்டம்பர் 17 வரை 33,854 ECG பரிசோதனைகள் செய்யப்பட்டு, 1,342 ஆபத்தான இதய பிரச்சனைகள் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளன.
· முன்பு 2 மணி நேரம் பயணம் செய்ய வேண்டிய நிலை இருந்தது; இப்போது அருகிலுள்ள மையத்திலேயே சிகிச்சை கிடைக்கிறது.

இந்தியாவில் இதய நோய் பாதிப்பு அதிகரித்து வரும் நிலையில், மற்ற மாநிலங்களும் இதுபோன்ற தொழில்நுட்பங்களை பின்பற்றுவது மிகவும் அவசியம்.

Bridging the Healthcare Gap in Kodaikanal's Tribal Hamlets 🏥🌿

For families living in the remote lower hill regions of Kodaikanal, accessing basic healthcare is a daily challenge. That's why Lantern Charitable Trust (LCT) is taking medical care directly to their doorsteps through our dedicated Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) service vehicle.

Our recent medical camps in these tribal communities were filled with stories of hope and healing. Our dedicated doctors and volunteers trekked through the hills to:
🩺 Conduct Health Screenings: Checking blood pressure and blood sugar levels for the elderly and adults.
💊 Distribute Free Medicines: Providing essential prescriptions and over-the-counter medications to those in need.
🏠 Provide Doorstep Care: Attending to bedridden patients who cannot travel to hospitals, ensuring they receive the medical attention and dignity they deserve.
🤝 Spread Health Awareness: Offering guidance on hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care to entire families.

Whether it's sitting on the ground with community members, sharing a comforting smile, or setting up a makeshift clinic in a village square, our team is committed to ensuring that no one is left behind due to geographical isolation.
