It was in the mid 1970’s a handful of Sümi Theological students studying in Eastern Theological College, Jorhat gave birth to the idea to have a common platform for the theological students for all Sümi’s. Thus, the wisdom and vision of the few dedicated Sümi theological students pioneered the formation of the theological association styled as Sümi Baptist Theological Association (SBTA) in the year 1976.
