Our activity on 'Awareness seminar on importance of rainforests, biodiversity in eastern upper Assam and Animal Human conflict' yesterday was a great success. It was a joint activity with our parent club, Lions Club of Digboi. We're extremely grateful and thankful to the wonderful administration who let us showcase this seminar on such a vital issue. Lion Raj Sonowal conducted the session wonderfully in front of 150 students along with faculty of Ledo College.

Also we'd like to announce that we've undertaken this as our signature activity and shall keep doing such awareness seminars across all colleges, schools and institutions in the vicinity of Digboi.

We're proud to announce that today we're organising an 'Awareness Seminar on importance of rainforests, biodiversity in eastern upper Assam and animal human conflict' in the beautiful town of Ledo at Ledo College premises. The event is scheduled to begin at 12 PM, please make sure to attend.

As everyone knows with rampant man made developmental projects sprawling across the nation, seeping into sensitive ecological zones, the destruction of biodiversity, ecology is evident. And that brings with itself an unprecedented conflict amongst humans and wildlife. In our town Digboi alone, elephant and man conflicts are abundant. This has resulted also in the loss of vital human life, along with property loss.

Let us all together be mindful of the causal agents, the catalysts, and ways forward to mitigate such loss of wildlife, biodiversity in an already sensitive ecological hotspot.

ATTENTION!

We're extremely sorry due to the late update. We unfortunately have to postpone the open quiz of the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' quiz festival, due to unavoidable and unforeseen circumstances. As we and our organisers in Digboi Quiz Forum believe in delivering top notch quality quizzes, we have come to the conclusion that under the present circumstances, the open quiz is just not possible. Therefore, the same has been postponed till further notice. Please bear in mind this is a postponement and not cancellation. We shall be coming back with a bigger and stronger open quiz very soon.

However, the school quiz remains confirmed and shall be happening on the 14th August, at 10 AM in India Club, Digboi. Please spread this message and stay tuned for the open quiz information.

Updating on our last activity of LY 2021-22.

We are grateful to Past District Vice President Leo Shelja Rasiwasia ( ) LY 2021-2022, without whom this project of distributing umbrellas to the needy wouldn't have been possible. With her able guidance we distributed around 20 such umbrellas that can be worn on the head to people like street vendors, hawkers, daily labourers who ply their trade in harsh weather conditions, ranging from extreme heat to unrelenting rains. In an age of climate crisis, such an initiative made only more sense.
