๐ Celebrating Literacy, Honouring Educators & Creating Impact
The Rotary Club of Dibrugarh marked World Literacy Day with a meaningful evening dedicated to education, recognition and the power of teachers to shape lives.
The highlight of the programme was the presentation of the Gyanjyoti Awards 2026โ27, honouring six teachers from government schools for their exceptional contribution to education and their dedication to going beyond the classroom in service of their students and society. ๐
The evening also commemorated the 100th birth anniversary of legendary Assamese cultural icon Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, remembering his enduring contribution to music, literature, education and social harmony. It was a moment of pride to recall his association with the Club as an Honorary Member.
The programme was further made special by the presence of Sri S. P. Suresh, Director, Sh**ha Valley School, as Guest of Honour, and a special address by Dr. Nabanita Barman on the importance of literacy and the role of teachers in shaping society.
The celebration also gave the Club an opportunity to acknowledge the collective effort behind its recent recognition at the Manyata District Awards Ceremony, where Rotary Club of Dibrugarh received seven awards for its initiatives and achievements.
Hereโs to celebrating those who educate, inspire and create lasting change.
