APUN, Healing Hearts Foundation Conduct 3-Day Skill Development Program Promoting Skills Over Addiction

The Association for People’s Upliftment and Nurturing (APUN), in collaboration with Healing Hearts Foundation, successfully conducted a 3-day Skill Development Program on Water Hyacinth Utilization at the Silapathar De-addiction cm Rehabilitation Centre.

Held from March 21 to 23, the program emphasized the importance of choosing growth and skill development over addiction. Participants were trained in water hyacinth processing techniques, handicraft making such as baskets and mats, and basic marketing skills.

The initiative aimed to support individuals, including those recovering from addiction, by equipping them with sustainable livelihood opportunities and encouraging a positive, skill-based lifestyle.

Focusing on the theme “Turn Waste into Wealth,” the program promoted eco-friendly practices while helping participants build confidence and financial independence.

The RRR donation drive organised by the Dibrugarh RRR Centre, in collaboration with APUN, Shrishti Waste Management Services, and the Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation, was successfully conducted at Chowkidingee, Dibrugarh with overwhelming public participation. Citizens came forward in large numbers to donate reusable clothes, shoes, bags, and books, supporting the cause of reuse, waste reduction, and community welfare.
