The Leo Club of Dhubri Town and Lions Club of Dhubri, in collaboration with the Assam Cancer Care Foundation and National Health Mission, Assam, successfully organized a Free Preliminary Health Screening Camp focused on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) for men and women aged 30 and above.
The camp, held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Lions Club premises near Children Park, Dhubri, witnessed the participation of around 20 individuals who availed of free screening services. The initiative aimed at early detection of common NCDs including:
Blood Sugar
Blood Pressure
Oral, Breast, and Cervical Cancer
The camp marked a significant achievement in community health outreach as one patient was detected with signs of oral cancer. Immediate counseling was provided by the on-site medical team, and the patient was guided through the necessary steps for diagnosis and treatment. Thanks to the efforts of the partnering organizations, the patient has been referred to Kokrajhar Cancer Hospital, where they will receive free cancer treatment and care under government-supported schemes.
This initiative highlighted the importance of early screening in managing non-communicable diseases, particularly cancers, which often go undetected in their early stages. The event also raised awareness among the local population about preventive healthcare and the services available to them.
The club expresses its sincere gratitude to the medical team, volunteers, Assam Cancer Care Foundation, and National Health Mission, Assam, for their unwavering support. Special thanks to all participants who took a proactive step towards their health.
Together, we can build a healthier Dhubri.
