This 15 August, we came together in Saaligram to celebrate our freedom and take a small step towards the vision we hold for our village - a community rooted in understanding, prosperity and collective strength, living in harmony with one another and with nature.

The day brought us together through flag hoisting, reflections and speeches, children’s theatre and music, a shared community commitment, and planting trees for our common future. 🌱

What began as a celebration became an opportunity to ask ourselves:

What kind of village do we want to create together?

Perhaps the journey from Freedom to Swarajya is not a destination, but something we build - through our understanding, our relationships, our participation and the way we care for our village.

Why do we trust our own intentions, but doubt the intentions of others?

In relationships, we often see our own mistakes as accidental, while assuming that the other person acted intentionally.

This simple example of a falling glass points to a deeper issue: when we doubt the other person’s intention, trust begins to break.

Trust is the foundational value in human relationships - beginning with the recognition of the intention of the other person.
This was one of the conversations we explored with the families of Saalig during the village shivir: how trust, understanding and right values can become the foundation of stronger families and, ultimately, a stronger community.

Can we learn to trust the intention behind a person’s action, even when their action is wrong?

Can one village become a blueprint for the future?

Around the world, communities are facing growing challenges - broken relationships, environmental crises, and weakening local economies.
The Saaligram Project is an experiment to explore a different path: building a village where families thrive, livelihoods are local, nature is respected, and people live in harmony with each other.

The vision is simple:
If one village can demonstrate a better way of living, others may choose to follow.
Every meaningful change begins somewhere.

Pure smiles. Endless warmth. Unfiltered innocence.❣️

Beyond all the discussions and reflections during our 8-day Lifemaker Village Unity Retreat, the most beautiful thing we witnessed was the sheer joy and innocence in everyone’s eyes. 🌸

From mothers sharing tender moments with their little ones to elders bursting into candid laughter - these photos capture what happens when fear and judgment leave a room, and pure human connection takes over.

Real transformation isn't complicated. It’s found in a gentle smile, an open heart, and a peaceful home.

Which smile brought a light to your face today? Share the love in the comments!

A day in the forest with village children.🌱

We asked 4 simple questions to village families
and the answers opened up a beautiful insight about trust, happiness, and relationships.

The core truth was simple yet powerful...
behind every behavior, every person is seeking happiness.

When we understand this, trust becomes stronger and our connection with people becomes more compassionate.

Day 3 of our 8-day Village Unity Festival.

From exploring inner harmony to performing our skit on generational gaps - day 3 was all about shifting from assumptions to true understanding.

We also dove deep into literacy vs true education, parental expectations and finding real peace within the family ecosystem.

Day 2 of our 8-day Village Unity Festival.

Today's session was centred around pausing, reflecting and recognizing the true value of human relationships.

We took time to understand the importance of gratitude (Kritagyata) and acknowledging the blessings in every bond we share with our family, society and nature.

Grateful for these deep, meaningful conversations with the village families.🙏🌾
