We demand that global leaders step up
immediately to:
1. Condemn the July 1st Enforcement: Publicly reject China’s “Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress” and demand its immediate repeal, citing the warnings of UN human rights experts who state it violates international treaties China has signed.
2. Dismantle the Colonial Boarding Schools: Pressure Beijing to immediately shut down the state residential school system and end the forced separation and military-style re-education of Tibetan children.
3. Force Independent UN Inspections: Demand that China grant the UN High Commissioner forHuman Rights and independent monitors immediate, unfettered access to Tibet to inspect theseschools.

On July 4, 2026, SFT-India organized an event to stand in solidarity with the voices of Tibetan artists and writers who have been persecuted simply for speaking the truth and raising their voice. The Banned Music event is a heartfelt tribute to the courageous Tibetan artists inside Tibet who have been unjustly silenced under the oppression of the Chinese Communist Party and voices that have been brutally censored and suppressed.

Legendary Tibetan folk and singer-songwriter Jola Techung performed a powerful performance of one of the most iconic songs banned in Tibet, Raise the Tibetan Flag, originally sung by the Tibetan singer LOLO.
