Department of Home, CTA The Department of Home is one of the seven Departments of Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamsala

The Department of Home was established in 1960 and it is one of the first Departments to be established and given the huge important task of coordinating relief and rehabilitation works for thousands of Tibetan refugees who fled from Tibet to neighbouring countries of India, Nepal and Bhutan. Dharamshala, July 2025 -
Mr. Palden Dhondup, Executive Secretary of the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), met with Shri Pema Khandu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, during his visit to Dharamshala for the Ghoton celebrations commemorating the 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Accompanied by the Department’s protocol team, Mr. Dhondup held a productive discussion with the Chief Minister focusing on the welfare and development of Tibetan settlements in Arunachal Pradesh. The meeting addressed the overall well-being of Tibetan refugees residing in the state.
On behalf of the Department of Home, Mr. Dhondup expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Government of Arunachal Pradesh’s longstanding and generous support to the Tibetan community.
The occasion also served as a formal farewell to Shri Pema Khandu, in recognition of his gracious presence at the Ghoton celebrations.

26 April 2025 : During this year’s Department of Home Annual Picnic, we had the special opportunity to bid farewell to Namkha La, our respected Head of Accounts.

Since joining the department in 2015, Namkha La has served with dedication, honesty, and professionalism for the past years. His contributions have been truly appreciated, and his absence will be deeply felt.

On this day, 16th April 2025, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Pempa Tsomo and Tenzin Dakar.

Pempa la began her dedicated service in 1992, and over the past 33+ years, she has held various important roles, including Settlement Officer, serving the Central Tibetan Administration with unwavering commitment and grace. Her journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

As she embarks on a new chapter, we extend our deepest gratitude for her decades of service and wish her a joyful, healthy, and fulfilling life ahead.

To Tenzin Dakar, thank you for your contributions during your time with us. We wish you the very best in all your future endeavours.
