Representatives from Growing Seed participated in the on-location Programme on Climate Resilient Integrated Farming System and Agroforestry & Agrohorticulture Models for FPOs and NGOs working with NABARD, held from 28–30 September 2026 at the ICAR NEH Region, Umiam (Barapani), Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya.

The programme provided an excellent platform for gaining practical insights into climate-resilient integrated farming systems, agroforestry and agrohorticulture models, with a particular focus towards sustainable and resilient livelihoods.

The programme was highly insightful and enriching, providing valuable opportunities to gain knowledge, practical experience and new perspectives, while also facilitating meaningful interactions and networking with participants representing nine states across the country.

Growing Seed sincerely thanks NABARD, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, and all the organisers, resource persons and stakeholders for providing this valuable opportunity to learn, exchange experiences and strengthen our understanding of climate-resilient agricultural practices.

Under the project “Fostering Livelihoods through Livestock Farming: Strengthening SHGs in Jubarajnagar Block, North Tripura”, supported by NABARD, Tripura RO and implemented by Growing Seed, an exposure visit was organised on 14-09-2026, for the trained beneficiaries to enhance their practical knowledge and provide valuable industry exposure.

As part of the visit, the beneficiaries visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Tripura and the District Poultry Farm, North Tripura. The exposure provided the participants with an opportunity to gain practical insights into scientific livestock management, poultry farming practices, animal care, farm management, and other aspects of livelihood development.

The enthusiasm and active participation of the beneficiaries made the exposure visit a meaningful learning experience. We hope that the practical knowledge gained during the visit will further strengthen their ongoing poultry, duckery, and goatery activities.

On 28 August 2026, Growing Seed successfully organised a Review Meeting of the NABARD-supported LEDP on Handloom & Handicrafts and the Gram Vihar Project at the Board Room of the BDO Office, Gournagar RD Block, Unakoti, Tripura.

The meeting was graced by the presence of the DDM, NABARD; LDM, Unakoti; MM, TGB, Unakoti; EO, DIC, Unakoti; EE, TTDCL; CA, ASI, Kailashahar; BMC, TRLM, Gournagar; Growing Seed officials along with progressive artisans and esteemed homestay owners.

The meeting provided a valuable platform to review ongoing initiatives and discuss future strategies for strengthening the handloom and handicrafts sector, rural tourism, homestay development, and sustainable livelihood opportunities in the region.

As part of its continued efforts towards strengthening Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Growing Seed, with the support of NABARD, is implementing an FPO Promotion Project at Fatikroy, Unakoti, Tripura.

On 28 August 2026, a review meeting was organised at the office premises of Manusiri Farmers Producer Company Ltd. Gakulnagar, Fatikroy, Kumarghat, Unakoti, Tripura.

The meeting was attended by DDM, NABARD; LDM, Unakoti; BM, SBI Ratiabari; MM, TGB Unakoti; Supdt. of Fisheries, Kumarghat; Supdt. of ARDD, Kumarghat; officials of Growing Seed; and the officials of Manusiri Farmers Producer Company Limited.

It was truly encouraging and satisfying to observe that the activities of Manusiri Farmers Producer Company Limited are progressing well. The valuable guidance and suggestions from the participating departments, financial institutions and stakeholders will further strengthen the FPO and help create better opportunities for its farmer members.

On 18 August 2026, officials from Growing Seed visited Deo Valley Farmers Producer Company Ltd. to review the progress of the organisation and its ongoing activities.

During the visit, the team interacted with the FPO representatives and discussed various operational issues, challenges and opportunities related to strengthening the organisation and improving services for its farmer members. The discussions also focused on identifying practical solutions to existing challenges and planning the way forward.

Growing Seed officials provided necessary guidance on future activities, business development, farmer engagement, value addition and strengthening the overall sustainability of the FPO.

Together, we are working towards stronger FPOs and a more prosperous farming community.

On 22 August 2026, the College of Agriculture, Tripura, with support from NABARD and in collaboration with Growing Seed, organised a Field-Level Training-cum-Input Distribution Programme on Rabi Onion Cultivation at the farmers’ field of Karma Agro Producer Company Limited, Kadamtala, North Tripura.

The programme was enriched by the presence of technical experts Dr. Tridip Bhattacharjee and Dr. D. P. Awasthi from the College of Agriculture, along with officials of Growing Seed and esteemed FPO members. Farmers received valuable technical guidance and essential inputs for successful onion cultivation.

This initiative is a significant milestone for the farming community of North Tripura, and we hope the Rabi onion crop will bring fruitful results and improved livelihood opportunities for our farmers.

Under the project “Fostering Livelihoods through Livestock Farming: Strengthening SHGs in Jubarajnagar Block, North Tripura”, supported by NABARD and implemented by Growing Seed, a field visit was conducted on 17-08-2026 by the DDM, NABARD, accompanied by officials of Growing Seed and the project CRP.

The visit covered the livelihood activities of beneficiaries in different villages of Jubarajnagar Block, North Tripura. It was truly satisfying to witness the beneficiaries actively engaged in poultry, duckery, and goatery, transforming the knowledge and skills gained into sustainable livelihood activities.

On this Independence Day, Growing Seed fondly remembers and pays the highest tribute to the noble souls and freedom fighters whose selfless sacrifices gave us the priceless gift of freedom. Because of their courage, dedication and sacrifice, we are able to breathe freely and proudly call ourselves Indians.

But freedom also brings responsibility.

As Indians, it is our collective duty to contribute—however small our contribution may be—to the progress of our nation. Let us work together for inclusive, sustainable and equitable development, ensuring that growth reaches every community and every corner of our country.

🇮🇳 Growing Seed celebrated Independence Day with utmost respect and dignity across all its offices and the offices of Growing Seed-promoted FPOs.

The celebration also included some joyful moments at SC-ST Boys’ Hostel, Gobindapur SB School, North Tripura, where study materials were distributed among the students.

Additionally, farm equipment was distributed at Fatikroy, Unakoti, under Manusiri Farmers Producer Company Limited, supporting our farming community and strengthening grassroots livelihoods.

To all our hardworking stakeholders, partners, beneficiaries, farmers, FPO members, supporters and fellow citizens, Growing Seed wishes you a very Happy Independence Day!

Growing Seed, with the valued support of NABARD Tripura RO, successfully organized an Exposure Visit-cum-Training Programme for the BoDs and CEOs of three Farmer Producer Companies from Tripura, promoted by the organization:

✅ Deo Valley Farmers Producer Company Ltd.
✅ Manusiri Farmers Producer Company Ltd.
✅ Karma Agro Producer Company Ltd

The programme was conducted from 05 August to 07 August, 2026 at Satmile Satish Club CBBO POPI (SSCOP), Cooch Behar, West Bengal, a reputed and experienced CBBO-POPI working in the FPO ecosystem.

During the programme, the participants underwent intensive training on various aspects of FPO operation, and sustainable institutional development. The delegation also had the opportunity to visit and interact with leading institutions and successful organizations, including Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and several high-performing Farmer Producer Companies, gaining valuable practical insights and learning from best practices.

This exposure has significantly strengthened the knowledge, confidence, and leadership capacity of the participants, equipping them to build stronger and more sustainable FPOs in Tripura.

Growing Seed expresses its heartfelt gratitude to NABARD Online for its continuous support and guidance.
