On August 15, 2026, following the conclusion of the 22nd North America Working Committee Meeting of the Tibetan Youth Congress. We the 19th Tibetan youth congress of New York New Jersey and RTYC minesota, RTYC Portland,RTYC Washington DC, RTYC Sanfrancisco,RTYC Toronto and supporters gathered at the New York post building at 1211 Avenue of America, Manhattan along with the Tibetan women’s association New York New Jersey and United Nations Headquarters in New York to amplify the call for justice and independent for Tibet on the global stage.
The demonstration marked a continued commitment by Tibetan youth organizations across North America to keep the Tibetan cause visible and urgent within international forums.
The action was jointly organized with RTYC New York/New Jersey, RTYC Minnesota, RTYC Toronto, and RTYC San Francisco, RTYC Portland and RTYC Washington DC was joined by key Tibetan leaders including TYC Centrex President Tsering Chomphel la, former TYC Centrex President Tenzin Jigme la, and a former Tibetan Member of Parliament.
Participants emphasized unity across regions and generations, underscoring a shared determination: we stand together as one people with one struggle and one cause. And preserve our Tibetan culture, language and tradition.
The central message of the gathering remained clear and unwavering: a continued demand for justice for Tibet and for independent Tibet for the Tibetan Martyrs and the recent martyr Longa Rangzen la self immolation for the Tibetan people. Speakers and participants reaffirmed that their advocacy will persist until meaningful change is achieved.
Reiterating our long-term commitment, we the organizers declared that we will not be silenced or deterred, but will continue to mobilize, advocate, and appear on every possible platform to keep the Tibetan issue alive in global consciousness.
