Step into Orexis – Engi-nuity, a dynamic platform by the SME BIT Sindri Students’ Chapter where ideas are not just created—they are challenged, refined, and brought to life.

Engi-nuity is more than a competition; it’s a test of your creativity, analytical thinking, and ability to communicate ideas effectively. Open to students from all branches, this stage pushes you to think critically and present solutions that stand out.

In this event, participants will be given a problem, develop innovative solutions to that problem, then present their solution to a group of people within a set period of time. Following the presentations, there will be an interactive Q&A session. The goal here is to not just express what you are thinking, but to express it clearly and with confidence.

World Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22 in honor of environmental protection. It was first observed in 1970, when the environmental movement began to gain momentum. Nowadays, thousands of people from all over the world engage in such events as tree planting, cleaning activities, and other forms of promotion.

While we celebrate World Earth Day, it’s only fitting that we remember how we’re contributing towards making our earth better and greener in the years to come. With a bit of dedication and a sense of respect towards mother nature, we will definitely be able to do so successfully.

IPCC represents a strategic movement away from traditional truck-based haulage methods and towards a system of continuous, and more efficient, transport of material. By transporting material using the first stage of crushing (primary) within the mine pit by either using fully mobile, semi-mobile or fixed crushing stations, the ore or waste mined from the pit is reduced in size at the time of removal and then transferred to a network of overland conveyors. This move is critical to optimising efficiency of transporting bulk material and will result in reduced need for large fleets of heavy, diesel-powered haul trucks.

The benefits of IPCC go well beyond economic benefits. IPCC systems are going to be major contributors to achieving sustainable development and environmental compliance in the extractive industry. By substituting diesel-powered truck fleets with electrically powered conveyor systems, mines will reduce fuel consumption substantially, thereby reducing operational costs (OPEX) related to tyre wear and maintenance, and also reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As the industry moves towards deeper open-pit designs and stricter safety regulations, IPCC systems will provide high-capacity production levels, reduced traffic congestion and continuous production.
