The meeting brought SHG members together to discuss their financial challenges, explore available credit opportunities, and understand how timely access to formal finance can strengthen livelihoods and economic security.

The initiative is a meaningful step towards encouraging community-led nutrition gardens, improving access to fresh and nutritious food, and promoting sustainable kitchen gardening among rural families.

Through such grassroots efforts, SWORD is helping communities turn small spaces into sources of nutrition, resilience and self-reliance.

With the support of NABARD, Deoghar, Ranchi, and the active participation of local VWC representatives, the programme reflects the power of collective action in creating healthier and more sustainable rural communities.

Fish farming can open new pathways to sustainable livelihoods.

Under the NABARD-supported Watershed Development Project, SWORD organised a Fish Seed Distribution Programme with the participation of the Village Watershed Committee (VWC).

By supporting local communities with fish seed and encouraging productive use of available water resources, the initiative aims to strengthen rural livelihoods, income-generation opportunities and community-led development.
