PRAVAH PRAVAH is a social organisation, registered under the societies registration act 1860.

Pravah is a Jharkhand based non-profit organisation working towards establishing an equity based just society where each individual has a dignified and respectful life. PRAVAH was founded in by a team of young social activists inspired by the values and movement of Jaiprakassh Narayan and Ramanohar Lohiya for a equitable just societies. The main themetic interventions areas are: community mobilisation and strengthening community based Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Livelihood Promotion, Sustainable Agriculture Development, Community Health and Education, Strengthening Local Self governance Policy Advocacy with respect to Child Right and Education.

We just wrapped up an incredible 2-day Financial Literacy Training, and the energy in the room was unmatched! From mastering daily budgets to unlocking digital banking, our participants are ready to take full control of their financial futures.

Day 1 Highlights: Mastering the Basics

After SBI Foundation and Pravah helped build a water tower and repair the local platform in Lalchua, monsoon rains and poor drainage made the main path muddy and overgrown. Access was getting difficult for everyone.

Instead of waiting for outside help, the villagers did something inspiring:

💰 Pooled funds to buy a tractor-load of dust

🛠️ Joined hands in voluntary labor to clear weeds and level the path

🤝 Pledged to keep the area clean and well-maintained together!

Infrastructure opens the door, but grassroots action keeps it open. 🚰❤️

Celebrating the transformative power of education this Teachers' Day! 🎓✨
Today, 49 inspiring young women from the 5th Batch at Model High School, Devinagar, took a confident step forward in their academic journeys through the PRAVAH – SBI Foundation – SBI OJAS Scholarship Program.
The scholarships were distributed by Mr. Dilip Dubey, Secretary of PRAVAH, alongside the Principal and dedicated teachers of Model High School. Beyond financial support, the day was filled with encouraging words, reminding these young scholars to pursue their goals with unwavering dedication, confidence, and determination.

Water Reaches the Hills. Lives Move Forward.

A powerful transformation is unfolding in Bada Maligoda and Podam villages of Littipada Block, Pakur District, Jharkhand.

PVTG families living on hills 2,000 feet high faced a daily struggle for water. Women had to walk for hours down rocky terrain to fetch water from waterfalls and springs, often forced to use contaminated water, with no water available for farming.

Through collective action, with financial and technical support from Tata Trusts and PRAVAH, and most importantly, active community participation, clean drinking water is now available closer to homes.

This small change has big impacts - saving women's time and effort, enabling livelihoods and farming, and building local water security.

The community is not just receiving water, they are now its guardians. 💧🌱🤝

From Awareness to Action in Dumka! ⚖️✨

A powerful day at Nyay Sadan! 🏛️

DLSA Dumka in collaboration with Pravah organized a One-Day Capacity Building Programme for Para-legal Volunteers (PLVs) on Child Protection & Human Trafficking on 25th August 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp 🪔 by:
👉 Mr. Sudhanshu Kumar Shashi, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Dumka
👉 Mr. Yogeshwar Mani, Principal Judge, Family Court
👉 Mr. Prakash Jha, District Judge-I
👉 Mr. Vivek Kumar, Secretary, DLSA
👉 Mr. Mohit Chaudhary, SDJM
👉 Mr. Dilip Kumar Dubey, Secretary, Pravah
👉 Dr. Raj Kumar Upadhyay, Resource Person

What we focused on:
✔️ Child Rights, Child Marriage, Child Labour & Trafficking
✔️ Laws on Child Protection & Human Trafficking
✔️ How to identify, rescue & rehabilitate vulnerable children
✔️ Role of DLSA & Free Legal Aid
✔️ Coordination with police, administration & NGOs

Special thanks to Mr. Prakash Chandra, DCPO Dumka for his key message: "PLVs are the eyes and ears of the community. Your awareness can save a life." 🙏

Our PLVs are now ready to take this mission to every village! They pledged to create awareness and ensure timely legal help for every child in need. 💙
