Our Story
SoCHE Foundation, founded by Kanika Pal and Sriskandh Subramanian is built on the principles of passion, commitment and love for conserving both native Indian handicrafts and the environment. It is influencing behaviour change for a cleaner planet and impacting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 12, 13, 14, 15, 17. Started with a simple project, Maati Milaap, to make the pottery kiln in Delhi pollution free, the team has also worked on tribal hand embroidery called ‘Mukka’ or ‘Kalavat’ from remote corners of Barmer (Rajasthan) and upcycled it to high end fashion with the use of sustainable fabrics. SoCHE has deep expertise to also work with school children while engaging them meaningfully through art, culture and literature to conserve their immediate environment. This project is called Nature’s Jamboree - the environment advocacy initiative of SoCHE Foundation.
