As per the records of Government, a child who is below 10 years, every year for 10 times came to government hospitals for the treatment of easily preventable diseases. We have seen in many MCD schools and primary schools in slums that children carried their food in plastic bags which is wrapped in news paper. We all know that by use of plastic bags, how it affects the environment. Many researchers
reported that newspaper ink contains ingredients such as Naphthylamine, amoratic hydrocarbons, and other aryl hydrocarbon receptor agonists that have multiple negative health effects. Also a newspaper comes to our home through passing of many hands, from printing press to delivery point, from delivery point it is taken by the distributor then it is delivered by a carrier person to our home. When that food was consumed by the children many bacteria and viruses enter in the body of children. Also, almost all water tanks of schools are neither clean on regular basis nor replaced when damaged. Due to damage, sometimes insects like lizard, snake, cockroach, rat jumps in to the tank and children consume poisonous water and get infected through diarrhea, malaria, typhoid etc. After all above reviews Parivartan Sandesh Foundation launched a Project Campaign called “Swachh Jal Apne Haath, Swachh Bhojan Apne Saath” to provide thedeprived children healthy environment as we manage for our children. Under this project we aimed to reach 1 lac children and we had covered 20,000 children in 2012 and provided them lunch boxes and water bottles for prevention of curable diseases and other serious reactions by Ink and Plastic bags.
