Humanitarian Medics are emergency medical responders (EMR's) who are humanitarian workers specially trained to provide medical healthcare in emergencies in disaster effected regions. Medic is a term that may be used to denote a wide range of trained emergency medical responders, each with different levels of training, ranging from first-aid and basic life support, advanced life support, to h

ealthcare practitioners and physicians in a wide range of specialisms. Terms may have different meanings with different training requirements in different countries where we operate. The goals of the Faculty of Humanitarian Medics (FHM) are to provide:
- a membership opportunity that is open to all types of medics and healthcare workers, paramedics, military medics and advanced first-aid responders and first-aid trainers.
- a professional designation of Humanitarian Medic (HM) & or Humanitarian Medicine Doctor (HMD),
- an opportunity for achievement and validation for professional education in Humanitarian Medicine,
- recognition for completing Humanitarian Medicine Continuing Medical Education (CME) / Continuous Professional Development (CPD) credit for attendance at conferences seminars and workshops and hands-on field experiences in Humanitarian Medicine.

The Faculty of Humanitarian Medics (FHM) is an integral part of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement (UN-ECOSOC Special Consultative Status), dedicated to training and accrediting medical professionals in Humanitarian Medicine.

Humanitarian Medics (HM) are specially trained Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) who provide life-saving healthcare in disaster-affected regions. The term medic covers a broad range of emergency and healthcare professionals, including:

✅ Paramedics & EMTs
✅ Military medics
✅ Physicians & specialists in humanitarian healthcare
