SAKSHAR is an initiative of Young Lawyers of Delhi University’s, Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law and other walks of life to make the citizens aware about their Fundamental and other Legal Rights, which being law students we realized is very important for the removal of many problems in the society like- corruption, caste discrimination, police atrocity and all other forms of harassment at the h
ands of Government Offices and various forms of discrimination prevailing in the society and to help in building an informed society. Spreading education both formal and legal, through our strong team of educated, legally trained and public spirited young volunteers is an essential part of this very effort to bring a positive change in the existing society of ours. We are trying to bring to the mainstream the marginalized sections of the society who are deprived of some of the very basic Universal Human Rights by way of imparting education to them and also making them aware about their rights so as to empower them to fight all kind of injustices prevalent in the society. Its all about empowering people to fight for themselves. We are also working on the holistic development approach by awakening and sensitizing all, specially the marginalized sections of the society about their basic Human Rights, Socio-economic injustice and the various Constitutional and Legal protections which is lying there in the various Law/Statute Books of the Country, unheard and unknown to the people for whom it was enacted. We believe that through convergence and collaborative efforts of the various section of the society and the various agencies engaged in the welfare of the of the people a force can be generated which will empower the disadvantaged and assist them in breaking the vicious cycle of ignorance and exploitation. Our existence is there to help the people to control their own lives and destiny. All our endeavors are purely pro-bono and aimed at the marginalized sections of the society.
